So.
Anyone else get an interesting gift from the guys at NRL? Because some kid just gave me a katana, of all things.
Definitely not complaining, though. It's pretty cool.
[This can only go well, right?
...Who in the world thought giving this man more sharp things to play with was a good idea.]

i'm rly happy the ppl here are giving us so much
but having only 3 pairs of clothes is...no fun...
[Especially when one of them was her hero costume before someone gifted her a kimono upon arrival - probably taking pity on her odd attire. Ochako only got another outfit after that by getting enough cash from the research lab during the most recent experiments.]

I never thought I'd have to worry about money like this again, it's a weird feeling.
[Crime pays Really Well, if only his bank cards from home actually meant anything here.]

i did a few odd jobs, but nothing rly set in stone
it's nice to finally afford things u need
[Ochako's not touching that last part, hahaha...no one needs to know she's absolutely dirt poor back home as well as here. And that she sometimes skips meals to save money - in order to siphon into her parents' account, so that she can give them a happy and carefree life one day.]

[Chuuya have you considered maybe that legit businesses can tell you're a little too rough around the edges for their business--]
So you're going to buy clothes?
[Frankly, Ochako would be surprised: Chuuya grew up on the streets, after all. He hasn't always had money.]

idk what i'm rly good at either u kno??
i can cook, but not SUPER well...
i guess i can lift and move things...or fight...
[Sigh, she still really, really wishes that 'hero' was a profession in this world. It just puts such a wrench in all her goals and thoughts of...what she wants to be now.]
ypu!!
*yup
maybe just a few outfits to start for me and my friend and some shoes for him, too.

[Like stocking shelves, or as a cashier...]
I can do plenty, but honestly I'd die of boredom if I did a job that wasn't my speed, and I like to fight, so that's why I looked for jobs like that. I think if you can do something, there's no harm in applying it to paying work, you know?
That's pretty generous of you, to use the money for your friend.
[A good thing, honestly.]

It sort of makes the reality of what is happening heavier.]
guard might work, but...i'm afraid any1 looking at me won't take me srsly...
[It's happened before. :')]
mm? of course i would!!
i think he has less clothes than i do, and he helps cook and keep things clean
and
well
i think he deserves something nice. ♥

It doesn't hold a candle to what Ochako's experiencing though. He's never had 'dreams and goals' akin to the level hers are. Just things he wanted, more than anything.]
Hey, if they don't take you seriously, you have to show them they should take you seriously.
Last job I just laid a punk twice my size flat out on the floor, just to prove that I could. They hired me for the weekend on the spot. It's all about attitude.
[Show them you're not someone to be messed with, and they'll get in line. It's easy, in Chuuya's opinion. But he's always been direct and dramatic.]
You're a good friend, aren't you? I'm sure he's glad to have you around.

butmy focus isn't really on fighting, it's rescue, but fighting is something useful to have for my line of work.
LOLOL i'll be honest, it is kinda satisfying to throw villains twice my size like a paper plane. >:D
what sort of work did u do b4??
[Isn't he her age? I mean...Ochako assumes Chuuya is, anyway, he's kind of on the smaller side, and has a younger looking face, so. Still, it's not like he couldn't be some sort of guard, or bouncer, or whatever...even at his age. She got her Hero License at fifteen, after all!! And only just turned sixteen before the new year.]
Eh...I hope so.
It doesn't seem like it sometimes...
But regardless, I'm really glad he's here with me.

Tell you what, I'll tell you what I do if you tell me what you do. Fair's fair, right?
[He's holding back his own answer, just until she gives her own. If she's a cop... well, not like she could do anything, but it would be good to know nonetheless.]

Okay!!
I'm still a student, but I'm training to become a Professional Hero back in my world - a superhero!
We're a lot like first responders, but because of our quirks, we can do a lot of various things. It's a case-by-case sort of occupation.
Sometimes simple tasks like finding a lost pet, clearing a blocked road for travel, or stuff like that...other times it can be stopping a super villain, espionage, and generally saving lives.
Battle Heroes focus on fighting villains and stopping crimes!!
Rescue Heroes focus on disaster relief, search and rescue, and immediate first aid.
That's what I want to be!!!
