Exactly. And if they choose to break the contract for whatever reason, I am given part of the money I would have earned anyway. One must be firm in their contracts.

I enjoy reading poetry and non-fiction when I have the chance.

That's an interesting combination! I read mostly fiction myself, but non-fiction always means you get to learn something new, right?

It does help with keeping a conversation interesting and moving along without dying until it reaches a necessary place, yes. It has taught me an interesting number of facts about humans, however.

Aside from the fact they aren't immediately born with the ability to manipulate mana? They talk with their hands instead of their ears and eyebrows. It makes it very confusing sometimes.

Wait, what do you mean? I know deaf people talk with their hands but I don't think most other people do?

Not in the way the deaf talk. I'm sure you don't notice it, but human hands always seem to be moving. As if to emphasize their points. It isn't the same as our ears which move back and forth to do the same.

I guess that's true, now that I think about it.

I know about muskets and regular guns. Is it something like that?

I'm... I don't believe I know what those are.

[Sin'dorei children used magic tricks to entertain themselves so surely they should have similar affects.]

Like this! [She makes a few sparkles on her fingertips, letting them float about like little fireflies?] But larger and with more mana?

[SPARKLES!! Fukuda is entertained for a moment. Gets distracted. Then remembers what's happening.]

Oh! Well, where I'm from, magic isn't real? We use computers to make special effects. Or, well, I shouldn't say that. There's a long tradition and variety of equipment used to make practical effects too.

That's a shame; I can't imagine I time I didn't have magic of some manner. But a practical effect is very similar to what humans use in the south of my country.

[With a flick of a wrist, the lights dim and fade.]

I think I would like to see a "movie" very much.
