Still, she forges on.]

Ah-- hello. I've been told this is the best way to reach many people at once.

[Such a fascinating thing.]

My name is Vennessa... and I'm from Natlan in Teyvat, though I lived most of my life out in Mondstadt. I...

[Here she looks off-screen, as if seeking reassurance from someone sitting there.]

I know there are many people from Teyvat here currently, however... I predate most of them by over a thousand years. If not directly by name some of those people may know me as the first Dandelion Knight. [Ah, that still feels so big.]

I've done little to be known for, as of yet... but I understand that my future actions have left me some large expectations to live up to. I can only hope that I am not found wanting.

[Vennessa takes a steadying breath.]

But I'm far away from home in time and in place now, and the only person I know here is Venti. Though he's a valued and dear friend, I would like to meet others as well.

She does stare for a moment, because horns aside, the man currently speaking to her is incredibly attractive. Vennessa might be mostly focused on other things as far as goals are concerned, but she isn't blind.]

I'm-- I'm not a knight, yet. But I will be, in my future. I'm known as a gladiator right now.

[An undefeated one.]

But your name is-- Hm? That's an interesting name.

[She smiles immediately when she sees him. This place is taking a lot of getting used to but at least she can count on one friendly face.]

I'd be honoured to meet anyone you count as your friend.

There's a lot of people from Teyvat. But I've met a few others. I hope you do make some friends. I want you to be happy, Vennessa.

[He can’t exactly bow on screen, but he does incline his head as much.]

[Archons, give her a second with this one. Vennessa does not want to seem rude but she is also chafing against the fact that this man is speaking as if what he is saying should just make sense to her without question.]

[Saying it herself does not make it make more sense.]

We don't have anything by that name where I come from.

I think I would be happier if I were able to go back to Mondstadt.

[Blunt, but... true.]

But as I can't... I would like to be happy here too. I'm happier just knowing you're here, Venti.

[vennessa]

[It still hasn't quite settled in her mind that everyone else here from the same world as her is from far into the future, but she sees no reason to hide away simply because of this fact. In fact, what would be the wisdom in it?

If she is to be a person who leads the people of Mondstadt to a bright future, and is to be remembered for that, then she will not disappoint anyone with this current version of herself.]

And likewise, any friend of Venti's is one of mine. [Any friend of Venti's, she thinks, would be a worthy person to have as a friend.] Greetings, Aether. How were you so fortunate as to meet Venti, if you were only passing through?

Ah...

[So this woman knows of her. That's... hmm.

She isn't sure how she feels about that just yet, but she did put her face out here to take this kind of thing in stride and so she smiles and nods in greeting.]

The Knights of Favonius... [How splendid an idea that still sounds.] It's an honour to meet you as well, Lisa. Does... does your library have books about me?

[vennessa]

[She's never going to get used to this people-from-the-future-knowing-her thing, but she smiles when the young man answers her and pauses for just a moment when she sees his face.

Ah... now he does look interesting, though she can't put her finger on just what about him seems 'off'. Her thoughts don't show in her expression though and her smile stays warm.]

Well met, Captain Alberich. It's my pleasure to meet you as well, and my hope that we can come to know one another better.

I know, and in time - we will be back home, I'm sure. And you'll get to do the things you were meant to do.

But I'm glad I can bring you some comfort. Things about this place are odd but with others it's not so bad. You should take the chance to enjoy yourself. You know, have fun?

Why, yes it does. Plenty, as a matter of fact.

( she's read all of them, and just spent too long getting Marjorie to stop fangirling and remember her overdue book. ah, Mondstadt. truly a paradise for people who don't believe in adhering to deadlines. unfortunately for Lisa. )

I must say, none of them did true justice to capturing your striking charisma.

Well, Mondstadt is a beautiful city, so I ended up sticking around for a little while. And Venti's a pretty common sight, playing on the streets and at the local bars. He's the number one bard in Mondstadt, after all.

But outside of that, we've had our fair share of adventures together, so I'd like think we're pretty close.

[Recent broken bond aside, at least.]

[He doesn't think there's a reason to avoid alluding to Venti's true identity -- surely Venessa would know it. But also sees no reason to go into that much detail here over the network, where just anyone could read it.]

[She nods. Of course, she knows that she must go back home, because Venti is here from so far in the future and he remembers all the things she's going to do. So... she must go home, right?

At least that can bring her comfort, as having him here with her does now.]

[Vennessa gives him a faintly amused look.]

I think I remember how to have fun.

That seems to be the case for a lot of worlds.

( it's annoying, really. because explaining things that are, to Steak, as obvious as the colour of the sky or his own hair, is frustrating. nevertheless, he makes a valiant attempt to explain the origins of food souls that his player is too lazy to type out because they know you know. )

[Her brows twitch downwards slightly, almost a frown but not quite, unsure of how to take what she thinks is a compliment. It's such a bold one, however, that she can't help but suspect the sincerity of it.

This Vennessa is not one who is so accustomed to direct attention like this. Though she was a reknowned gladiator, famed for her skill, her charisma was never needed for such things.]

Ah... thank you. It's still good to hear I'll be remembered well by so many.

[Yet still so strange to think about.]

Though I really have no need of flattery.

[She's not surprised by that somehow, and smiles fondly at the thought. The Venti she knows is hardly a reknowned bard in Mondstadt, though she thinks he defintiely fancies himself to be one. Good to hear he gets the recognition that he deserves.

And no need to mention who he really is - Vennessa knows, but she knows that it isn't a conversation for here and now.]

Then I'm glad. He deserves to have many good friends. I hope that they treat him well.

Oh, of course. It's a rare occasion to meet a hero of the past! But please, just Kaeya. The Knights of Favonius really hold no power here, so my rank hardly means a thing.

[vennessa]

[She listens carefully while he explains, taking it all in with avid interest. When he's done she's quiet for a few thoughtful seconds, her head tilted and eyes set on something off-screen while she thinks about what he told her.]

I think I understand.

[It might take her a little time to reason it into terms she can fully grasp, but it isn't too difficult a concept.]

Then your name makes complete sense! It's my pleasure to meet you.

[vennessa]

I wouldn't doubt that for a moment. [She replies with a chuckle.]

Perhaps you and I could have some fun together some time. We haven't had much occasion to be together outside of a prison cell.
