Hey guys, just wondering, what kinda holidays you got back home for this time of year? By my calculations it's *roughly* this world's equivalent of Fellnight, which means it's Misrule season, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who knows what that is.

So, for the uninitiated: Misrule is a three-day holiday a little bit after the winter solstice where you eat delicious food and put up a bunch of decorations made of evergreens and shit...

...and then you get blackout drunk, gamble all your savings, roll around naked in the snow maybe, and start fighting people in the streets. And also bang on people's doors demanding pudding. And most importantly you set a giant dude on fire. Or sometimes it's a giant horse. And a whole bunch of other stuff.

Really, anything goes.

I've definitely never heard of Misrule but it sounds like a holiday I would celebrate. At least the part about food, but not so much the drinking and some of the other things.

As for what holiday we have where I come from? There's Christmas coming up in about a month I think, where you give gifts to people you care about, decorate everything with colorful decorations... people make lots of food and have get togethers with their family.

It certainly doesn't sound nearly as exciting as the one you're speaking of.

That makes sense. Have something really high energy and then something less... intense afterwards? It's kind of the opposite here.

New Year's is... where people get a bit stupid and drink and throw parties? I really never quite saw the appeal of it but that could just be because of my experiences.

Ah... That depends.

Usually a holiday doesn't even need to happen for that to occur. At least with the people I spent a lot of time with, a couple months back.

You guys have a holiday for that? For some of my co-workers back home, that just sounds like another Tuesday!

My world doesn't have too many unique holidays. Mostly since they're basically the same as the ones you see here, aside from that spooky moon one back in October-- since I'm from a Nippon, too.
