Okay, I was GONNA say there's a lot more reason to be afraid.

Do you know whether or not he's a lich too? Because it sounds like he would be, but there's other ways of extending your lifespan if you don't wanna do the lich thing.

He's definitely a skeleton under an illusion, who is immortal and has magic. Does that narrow it down to 'lich'?

There's only one way to be sure and that's if you know whether or not he's got a soul vessel thing.

But generally, if someone is:

-undead
-immortal
-an asshole
-a wizard

If someone's all of those things at once? 99% chance it's a lich.

That's bad because normal wizards are already kind of a pain in the ass to fight, but in addition to the immortality thing? ALLEGEDLY when you go lich, your magic gets a little power boost.

A phylactery, I think they're called? I don't know what his is if he has one.

So that's where your soul is going to be. If you're a lich. I dunno about you but my soul is inside my body like a normal person.

If I recall correctly, the ritual is supposed to bind your soul to it so that it doesn't go on to whatever afterlife you're supposed to head for when you die. You do it right and it basically keeps sending signals to your body to animate itself.

I have no idea what happens if you do it wrong.
