Is the stuff those guys in there said true? I mean it has to be true, I'm here and those guys weren't human, right? So this has gotta be a dream or am I dead? Would I know if I'm dead?


[The video had started with a distressed looking blond man and soon that blond was wincing in pain after he's pinched himself. The test to see if he was asleep, not dead. So he at least got proof that one of the two was wrong.

He's got the magi-cam (a name that made him twitch hard when he heard it, propped up on a wall so he can stand and use both of his hands. Hands that were gesturing as he spoke, and paced.]


And no gettin back, right? That's what they said. Some mess about time loops and, damn, I should have listened better.


[The kid has bags under his eyes, a few cuts and scrapes and bruises, and those are just what can be seen on his face. They'd tried to patch him up as well as could be before he'd gone and run out. He was quick on his feet.

He ran a dirty hand through his hair and then gave a nervous laugh before turning back to the camera.]


Don't suppose this'll get seen by people, huh? My people? Noct, Gladio? Iggy... [A shake of his head.] What am I doing? I mean to say, I'm Prompto! I got here a few hours ago and this place is crazy!

[Reno brought his hand down on Prompto's head.

And ruffled that hair.]

[His hair was already a mess, but that hand made it worse.

And worse than that... It reminded him painfully of of Gladio. Of Noct. Now that could have brought him to tears. Instead his head dropped. He didn't even have the will to bat at the hand like he would have the others.]

Quit it... I know.

[Now the kid looked depressed. Well, he kind of came that way to begin with. With one last nudge of Prompto's head he let his hand fall.]

Don't be like that. I am what I am for life, but I wouldn't recommend it. You have to be willing to hurt people even when you don't want to. You don't get to have a family. Even if you make normal friends they're still kind of scared of you. And you have to be willing to live with the fact that a lot of people very reasonably want you dead.

Not the type of thing most would aspire to be.

...We are incredibly cool, though.

[Prompto shook his head.]

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to you. I never said I wanted to be a bad guy though.

I just dunno who I am. That's all.

But... I guess I'm stuck here. So I've time to work it out now.

Take it you haven't found anyone you know around here, though? [If he did they were kind of crap, leaving their buddy in this condition.]

Nah, least none replied to me yet. If they're here. [If they didn't hate him.

He sighed and leaned away from the bar to look down at himself. Yeah, sleep, a bath, he needed new clothes... He held out his hand and concentrated... and sighed again.]

Heh, figures... No Noct at least. Can't use my guns or camera. If he was here I'd be able to.

[ The last thing she was doing was paperwork, after all. Not a very lethal activity!

As for the other person behind the screen? He doesn't seem to be doing so well. She'd try to help if he'd let her, so... ]

Why. He's got your stuff or something?

Sorta? He sorta had this ability... kinda like magic? He could store our weapons and stuff. And he can let people take a bit of that power? Share it? Okay, look, I used the thing and still don't get it.

[He wriggled his fingers.]

It let me just think and the thing was in my hand.

Magic weapon storing powers? Don't think we have a materia for that one.

Might be a bit of an issue, though, if using it means you can just lose your stuff.

So you were, or he was, carrying guns and a camera? Guess you could shoot with all of them.

[Prompto cocked his head to the side and gave Reno a curious look. He grinned a bit then.]

Kinda had all my stuff. Our stuff. [And anything he'd had on him was taken off when he'd been strung up, save for his clothes. Thank god for that.]

Told ya. I'm a crackshot!

S'for for casting spells and stuff. Like 'Thunder'. I haven't heard anyone else mention them when they talk about magic.

And now you're here and you don't even have a gun. What do you think I should do with you?

Huh. Noct can do that too... I can't do that whole magic stuff. Iggy was better at it.

[He sighed and shrugged. What to do with him? Who knows. He didn't know what to do with himself.]

I dunno, man. Point me at those free rooms I heard about? I can find a bed and lick my wounds.

Uh... [He paused in his pacing to look at the screen and the blurry image that popped up. She was cute! He had no idea who she was... But she was new like him so that was a bonus, at least he wasn't alone in being new.

Prompto gave a half smile followed by a shrug.]

I don't mind talking. I don't know if I've a lot to say though...

Well... if I may be so bold in assisting you, if you want to ask questions, or just talk about food or things that would help you calm down, I am here.

[ Because he does not seem calm. ]

It's too bad you missed the dick festival they were having. I would've given you the tour.

[He took a big gulp of his own drink.] Let me know when you're done and I'll take you there. Just don't drink yourself six feet under. I'm not getting a shovel.

[And naturally, if anyone is throwing their arms out, Koro's instinct is to return the action. He reaches out and pulls Prompto into his strong arms in a tender embrace, rescuing him from a gnarly date of...falling back a few feet onto the floor.

Instead it's just the chair that is now on it's back.]

Gladio? Glad...io...to see me?

[The use of a pun was more mind bending than the fact that this guy had pulled him into a hug. Prompto had woken thinking one of his friends were in front of him only to realise it wasn't him, and then this guy punned... Just like they did. It was just crazy enough that he couldn't help a quiet laugh.]

Please tell me your Koro and I've got the right place? This is gonna be kinda awkward if it's not.

[Oh no, this human was so small and cute...and the smell of Koro's shampoo coming from his still damp hair, it was too much! But no...Koro had to sadly release him. Poor guy was shaken up as is.

...which is also why he held back from pretending to not know who Koro is. That would have been too cruel.]

Relax, Prompto. You have the right guy. You hungry?

[Once released, Prompto stepped away and turned to bend and pick the chair up that had toppled over with an apologetic smile.]

Sorry, man. It's been a rough...while. Uh, sure. If its not too much trouble?

[Straightening up he gave a bit of a brighter smile. Koro was a pretty good guy. Cute to boot. What the hell had he done to deserve having met such a nice guy on his first day in weird world?]

Anythin I can help with?

Yeah. [Koro casually responds while walking over to his wardrobe. After some shuffling about he pulls out a folded clothing and walls up to Prompto.]

You can get out of those nasty clothes and change into this. It's a hot spring yukata I got as a gift. It...may be a bit big on you, but it's beats being naked...unless you don't mind being naked.

[A small chuckle escapes his lips, and Koro bends down to pick up a bag with a picture of a meatbun on it.]

And then you can eat this. They're really good. Or...so I hear.

[Prompto kind of liked his clothes... He thought maybe he could patch them up, get them cleaned... But it was true they were fithy so he couldn't argue when he was given new clothes to wear.]

Thanks. Shoulda picked something up on my way here... [He laughed as he turned and peeled out of his tank top. On doing so it was clear just how bruised he was. His back and sides had some healing and some new bruises, still dark and livid. Scrapes on his arms were apparent too.] You don't want me walking around naked, this'll be great.

[Pants came off and yukata went on. It was kind of weird and felt like he'd been asked to put on a dress, but he was giving Koro the benefit of the doubt here. When he turned back it was to find a bun being held out to him. Prompto smiled gratefully and took it.]

Wait. You've never had one before?

[Koro casually picks the clothes up as they're dropped, giving quick glances at Prompto's beaten body. The cuts and bruises...they're fresh. Just what kind of hell did this guy go through?

But he had other things to worry about, such as Prompto's question. He stares at him blankly.]

I have. But I don't have a sense of taste. My diet is purely nutritional. [Koro gestures with a nod towards the other.] Your undies, too. I'll throw it all in the washer. It's a vintage one, not as great at the one back home, but it beats doing it all by hand.

[Oh how quickly he changes the subject.]

[Huh. Okay weird. A guy who couldn't taste things? That sounded awful. Prompto liked food, food was all kinds of good! And he wanted to ask more but then he was being asked for his underwear and didn't that just make him blush. Yikes. Okay. It made sense he supposed. But someone else washing his smalls...

The guy was being nice though. So he tossed the bun onto the seat of the chair and reached under the skirt of his thingie-ta and pulled them down and off.

After balling them up, he stepped up to Koro, laughed nervously and shoved them inside of his tank top so the poor guy wouldn't have to handle them.]

Really appreciate this. Uh... But if you show me how, I could probably wash them myself?

It's fine. You just throw the clothes in, put in the detergent, and press a button. Technology is amazing isn't it?

[Koro is doing his best to make Prompto relax. He's cute when he's embarrassed, but the demon doesn't want him to stay that way, at least not in this particular context.]

Relax. Before I came here, I worked as a masseur at a spa. Laundry and picking up stray clothes, including the occasional sock or undergarments, was part of my job. Just think of this as me working, yeah? Go sit down on the bed, I'll be right out. I should have something for those cuts.
