Alright, since I apparently have time and the resources, I'm gonna be baking. And I wouldn't mind a bit of a challenge to keep myself occupied, so, I'm asking you lot for favourite dishes.

[ he leans on the counter propping his chin in his hand as he stares at the-- camera-thing, finger tapping against his cheek causing little sparks to curl around his fingertips.

he looks unbothered about that.]

I bake better than I cook, but cooking isn't out of the question. You don't even need a recipe, just tell me a description if I don't know what it is.

[he's looking like he doesn't know what that means. look, the jasper that he knew was a hell of a baker, but sometimes he was working under harsher conditions and with what he had.]

Do they have kobe beef here? I guess, and is it just like a whole steak dropped on the pizza? Of grilled then sliced?

[ the pizza part is easy, making a pizza involves dough, which jasper can do half asleep.]

You mean to tell me that you have never my cheddar and jalapeno bread? Or herbs and garlic knots?

[his head tilts between the words. and holly...peen bread? well that does sound kind of fae, in a beltane sort of way.]

What, for real? Seriously? It's grilled and sliced I think? And it's also topped with onion and potatoes.

[ he has had pizza with potatoes on it, it was... interesting. not bad, just strange.

jasper moves around a little, pulls a pen out from a pocket and scribbles on a little notepad.]

So, are the potatoes thinly sliced like scalloped potatoes or like... chunks? I feel like sliced. Also, you volunteering to help with all the cutting involved?

Uh huh, now the questions is, do your anchovy rolls come wrapped in brioche pastry with capers and sauce or just... the anchovy and caper?

...I am very willing to help you.

[he would love it, in fact. he's helped his jasper in the past, but it was mostly just bringing him stuff - fruits, berries, butter, cream. he feels ready to try his hand at mixing, kneading bread, making sure that jasper doesn't have flour on his cheeks or lips or...]

When do we get started?

It probably isn't very challenging, but I would roll over and die for a decent scone.

[ well that-- you know what, he really should have seen this being the outcome of his teasing. jasper blinks a few times because he barely had time to pull together most of the ingredients before you showed up.

he blinks a few times before handing a whisk over to daeshim and gesturing to a bowl.]

Whisk those together please, I have to bloom the yeast.

Do they have Kobe beef here? I haven't really looked honestly, but either way I'm willing to make it, sounds like it could be delicious. Even if we have to make some modifications based off of available ingredients. Speaking of, traditional pizza dough?

[ you, sir, are speaking his language. and it's probably obvious in how his whole face lights up at the mention of scones.]

No dying, but I would argue that getting the right ratio of crispy and crumbly but still moist in a scone makes it a decent challenge. The question is, plain or flavoured?

[no sex in the kitchen. wash your hands. when in doubt, add more butter. these were always jasper's rules and some of the few that daeshim always obeyed. he pushes his sleeves up and goes to wash his hands. and then jasper says something that catches his attention.]

I can make it bloom!

Ah, cinnamon is one of the best flavours! Along with lemon blueberry with a tart glaze. [ no, really, you have made his day with this. he loves baking, it's ridiculous, and he will talk to you for hours on the different types of pastries and flavour combinations.]

Do you like your scones with or without glaze? Oh! And rustic or shaped?

(( Henry understands that enthusiasm. He feels it keenly in regard to his own interests and pursuits. Unfortunately, cooking of any sort isn't one of them. An awkward little laugh follows and runs a hand through his curls in a nervous kind of gesture. ))

I'm not that picky. Whatever the cook prepares is usually fine by me.
