...for starters, does anyone actually know what the hell is happening? And why is there a version of my mate here that isn't my mate but feels like he is? Are we all just copies?

Yeah. I guess that happens a lot. There's someone here that looks just like me and well... that's only the start of the complications it has. But... there are definitely... a lot of alternate universes. It's weird.

There seems to be... people who look similar to people you know. I have met someone here who looks very much like one of my closest friends in my world, but it's not the same person. But... I also have met someone else here who... is the same person, but from another universe?

It's confusing, to say the least.

[he doesn't need to explain. daeshim's first reaction to the confirmation is a soft gasp, followed by a slight recoil from the screen. his expression twists, his mouth too, like it's about to hurl accusations-

but then he remembers what bae has told him about the daeshim who is a wolf, the fond look on his face when he talks about him. he schools his expression back into neutrality.]

mm, excuse me? bishop blinks at the screen and opens his mouth twice before finally making a face. ]

The wolves I knew circle the Ruinwood every full moon! Want my humans! Snap at the boundary I've made and stand on two legs to show off what's between them!

[he huffs. and then glances away sheepishly, voice less fierce when he speaks again.]

[ that's a lot of visual to take in, give him a moment. he's definitely too shy to just wag his bone around like that so yeah, definitely not the same. ]

Mm, somehow it does. It can be strange, though. I try not to think too hard on it. I'm not sure if it's reincarnations or anything else.

[ baein's smile turns a little apologetic at bishop's confusion, and then his eyes widen a bit when he's likened to someone else and he sits up a little straighter. he seems to be indoors, and the overhead light does nothing to help his pale complexion. ]

Like me...? [ he pauses, considering. ] This might be an odd question, but what are they like?

Yes and...also yes. He's here but he's not...the same. He's not a wolf and he doesn't actually know me but he's...him.

Yeah, it sounds like something out of a movie or something.

[ and like it would drive you insane if you thought about it too hard.

he smiles a little, though when baein's posture changes. ]

No, no...not odd. I'd ask, too, if it was the other way around. Mm...

[ he thinks for a moment. ]

I don't exactly know him know him but I see him around a lot. He's usually reading or watching something by himself. I can't tell if he's a student or if he just likes learning about random things. His hairs dark though...you look like a lighter version of him.

[he makes a thoughtful sound. on this, he can relate.]

It was the same for me. My humans here are not mine.

[one isn't even human, and the other possesses powers that a human shouldn't.]

[ he finds a place to set the device so he can get comfortable, shoving his hands into his pocket. ]

You have people here, too, that aren’t yours but…are?

[ he kind of wonders if that’s just how it works…do they always find each other no matter what? ]

Surprisingly…no. I thought he would at first…

Ah... I'm afraid I don't know what a movie is.

[ he sounds a little sheepish as he says it, though he brightens a little at the description of his double. it's... it's odd to hear, but also relaxes him, finding out he's not the only one in this place who has duplicates of themselves.

it does make him huff on a small laugh though. it's ironic, being called light when in reality he's a creature of the dark now. ]

How strange... I can only imagine what it would feel like to meet someone like that.

[daeshim sighs at that.]

I am relieved to hear that. [he is. he was lucky enough to escape that pain himself, he wouldn't wish it on anyone else.] Yes. One knows a me that is a wolf like you. The other did not know me at all. And yet another I met here for the first time.

I will continue to care for them all. No strange magic is strong enough to make me stop.
