[ Only the top of his perfectly styled bedhead is visible on the screen as he stares at nothing in particular, trying to take in everything around him.

He doesn't like that the ugly little phone he's holding is called a magi-tech.

Noctis isn't sure where to start, isn't 100% sure that the explanation he received upon his arrival wasn't the result of Ardyn continuing to fuck with him despite being on the cusp of reaching the Crystal. The man is, after all, capable of so much. He left his friends behind, overwhelmed by daemons, and stepped foot on the elevator... over and over and over again, Ardyn's voice ringing in his ears, taunting him. That's why he went through the door, that's why he's where he is now.

Admittedly, he didn't fully pay attention at his orientation. He's tired, and he's used to other people (see: Ignis) paying attention for him when it mattered, but he's still almost 75% sure that this is Ardyn's doing. Somehow.

He clears his throat, not bothering to adjust the camera. ]

I'm--

[ He pauses for a second, rethinks asking for more info on his current whereabouts. He's a little wary and he doesn't want to say too much, so he ends up sighing, scrapping whatever he was going to say, and mutters to himself instead. ]

Man, I could really go for some of Iggy's cooking right now. Or a soft bed.

[ Sephiroth would normally insult this person but he is mission bound to give good PR to ShinRa, so instead he offers his very insightful advice. ]

You seem disoriented.

[ A pause. ]

That is normal.

[ Disoriented is putting it lightly, especially after what he's been through and the small amount of sleep he's had in the last several days. Noctis doesn't know what to think, but it's... comforting, in a way, to hear that this is normal. ]

Yeah? [ A pause ] Did it happen to you?

It will pass soon enough.

[ Sephiroth didn't have it that bad, but he doesn't contradict himself. He's already given his findings. ]

That's it?

[ The irritation is noticeable in his tone of voice. Not the answer he was hoping for, though Noctis isn't quite sure what he was hoping to hear. ]

It just passes and everything is fine?

Of course not.

[ There are still many problems for everyone.

Sephiroth pauses again as he grapples for what to say next. ]

But you will be.

[ There. He did it. He's been helpful. Mission accomplished. ]

[ This guy... ]

So, what else is there if that's not it? You're not going to elaborate?

[ Noctis isn't sure how much more "conversation" he can have with this guy if all he's going to get are cryptic responses that are less than helpful in trying to make sense of this all. Sure, he could have paid better attention at orientation, but that didn't happen. ]

[ Oh.

Does this person need a report? He can certainly do that. There's nothing classified about what he's been looking into and he is Here To Help.

Sephiroth's mouth opens and the research and analysis begin to flow, it's all about kizuna, time travel, and the history of Nippon.

This continues for an indeterminate period until it occurs to him to pause and give a chance for feedback and questions. Which he does. And stares. ]

[ To say Noctis is caught off guard by the sudden mass of information being thrown at him is putting it lightly. He's incredibly overwhelmed and shut down about two minutes into Sephiroth's spiel. This is just way too much all at once. He couldn't take in all of the information at the orientation, too tired to concentrate on things that he didn't consider truly important... And this is about the same. ]

...You can't just dump all of that information on me at once and expect me to actually retain any of it.

[ That's what Ignis is typically for. ]

[ This person is clearly an idiot. Sephiroth would tell him so, too, but for those pesky mission parameters. He has never--unless he actively chose to sabotage it and so that doesn't really count--failed a mission before and he's not about to start now. Still. This is not his skillset so what actually happens is that Sephiroth blinks twice in quick succession and then begins speaking rather...slowly and using simpler terms. ]

Your bad feelings will stop soon, but you are stuck here until they fix things.

[ Noctis definitely noticed the slowed down speech, the simplified words... And he's not thrilled. He's not an idiot and he won't be spoken to like he is one. Tired? Yeah. Overwhelmed? Definitely. Fool? No. ]

I've barely had any sleep, so it's a little difficult to take in an entire book full of information at once.

[ Yeah, incompetent until proven otherwise. Sephiroth will need more than this man's word after that little demonstration. ]

[ He does not elaborate. ]

Because I'm tired as hell? I can't concentrate.
