Noctis isn't sure where to start, isn't 100% sure that the explanation he received upon his arrival wasn't the result of Ardyn continuing to fuck with him despite being on the cusp of reaching the Crystal. The man is, after all, capable of so much. He left his friends behind, overwhelmed by daemons, and stepped foot on the elevator... over and over and over again, Ardyn's voice ringing in his ears, taunting him. That's why he went through the door, that's why he's where he is now.

Admittedly, he didn't fully pay attention at his orientation. He's tired, and he's used to other people (see: Ignis) paying attention for him when it mattered, but he's still almost 75% sure that this is Ardyn's doing. Somehow.

He clears his throat, not bothering to adjust the camera. ]

I'm--

[ He pauses for a second, rethinks asking for more info on his current whereabouts. He's a little wary and he doesn't want to say too much, so he ends up sighing, scrapping whatever he was going to say, and mutters to himself instead. ]

Man, I could really go for some of Iggy's cooking right now. Or a soft bed.

Ooh, that does sound convenient! We could have used something like that back home; my friends and I did quite a bit of camping ourselves. Not that Erik or I couldn't whip up a pot of stew or something similar, of course, but it would have saved a fair amount of time in the evenings.

And yes, something like noodles or rice can do by itself in a pinch, but it does tend to want a li-i-ittle something more most of the time. I tend to prefer seafood myself.

[ Noctis can't hide the surprise on his face when Sylv says he did quite a bit of camping. Not at all something he expected to hear from the other man.

Camping had never been something Noctis was too keen on growing up, preferring to stay in the city especially after his injury, but it was Gladio's thing. After they left on their roadtrip, camping just became part of his life, usually easier to find a campsite than it was to find a motel... and he actually came to enjoy it. Unless it was raining, that is. Camping sucked when it was raining. ]

Wait... You like camping?

Not exactly, darling. While it certainly has it's charms, we were doing it more out of necessity than anything else. Erdrea doesn't have the sorts of wonderful vehicles that they do here, after all, and with most cities and towns being rather far from each other, getting from one place to another overland usually involves days of walking or riding. Sometimes weeks, depending on how far you're going.

[Yes, Zoom helped a bit, but that only worked for places they'd already been.]

So anyone who does a lot of traveling tends to become rather familiar with camping, whether they want to or not.

Ah... yeah, I suppose so. One of my friends back home is really big into camping, so I've done quite a bit of it myself. While we had a car, sometimes we went places that it was just easier to camp instead of driving to a motel.

[ He pauses for a second, thinking about everything left behind in Lucis, about the times he took for granted when he complained about having to stay at a camp site. ]

I miss it.

Honestly, honey, so do I. Though that has more to do with the company than anything else. So many wonderful time my friends and I had on our journey, despite the dangers...

I do hope they're all doing alright.

Yeah, I hope so, too.

[ Noctis sighs, taking a moment to look around hoping he sees Prompto on his way. But, for now, he sees nothing he's familiar with, so he continues to wait. ]

I just got to Nippon and I'm already missing everything I left behind in Lucis, dangers and all... Hope it gets easier since I don't know if we'll ever make it back home.

It has for me, but then, I'm the type who can fit in just about anywhere, so it may depend. Still best to try and stay positive, hmm? Maybe it'll all work out in the end.

[He doesn't miss that looking around though.]
