What kind of exploring did you do?

Both urban and rural areas, undeveloped land (such as woods), ruins, and... uh, one other world.

I'm envious, it sounds like you must have many stories of places where you've been.

The place where the faeries used to live.

That sounds exciting, you must have very interesting stories.

I never met a fairy myself though I think they only exist in children's books where I'm from.

So what are faeries truly like then? I'm very curious

To be honest, they're a little horrifying. It's like... They're not wholly on the same plane of existence.

Sounds like the stuff of nightmares rather than a fairy tale.

I'm never going to think of those stories the same again now.

They are very dangerous. The one story that seems to hold truth is that they do kidnap human children. Though most of those children don't survive since the Faeries don't know how to care for them.

That's terrifying.

In my world, fairies and other spirits are believed to share powerful magic from the planet's lifeforce and whisper secrets at night to children who are considered worthy.

Do the stories speculate on what makes one worthy of such secrets?

[ambitiousblond]

The criteria depends on who is telling the story but generally it's someone with a kind nature who cared for the planet and so could be trusted with its secrets to use them for good.

But I was never entrusted with those secrets, unfortunately.

So you believe in those stories?

[ambitiousblond]

Not anymore, it turns out those stories were a bit inaccurate in the end. The planet doesn't need to whisper secrets when it can roar with fury.
