"I'm trying," he insisted. He would love to be better and not confined to walking the house every now and then without getting exhausted. Or needed a monitor just to bathe (not that he minds Pete helping out with that task). But it would be nice to be back up to par, physically.

He grabs the cloth before it can slide down his back and starts to wash. He's careful when he bends to get his lower legs and feet clean (though there might be an old man groan or two). It actually feels good to wipe away the days of sweat and stink. He can only imagine how much better a soak will feel on his aching muscles from sleeping on the floor.
