All over a friend's bodyA-anyroad, sounds like things were wild in there! I was busy huntin' a bounty! Erm, well, not hunt, more like knock out and turn in alive, but yeah!

Weeeeellll not really! I'm not wild about huntin' folks, but they were dangerous and harmin' innocents! I'm relied on a lot back home for dealin' with trouble like this, so I had to take it! Besides, I owe a lot to Granny, who gave me food and home when I came here to Nippon, so I wanted to pay her back somehow. She needed a new oven and other house repairs, so the bounty reward helped a lot!

...What about yerself? You into that sorta thing?

I only fight if I have to. I can fight, I just don't enjoy it terribly.

Yup! A young lady who's an Au Ra like me! Though she is Xaela, a blackscale, but she wasn't born on the steppes, so callin' her a dragon won't be a death wish! Haha...still best to not compare her to a dragon. It's kinda insensitive for horned folk like us. A-anyroad, she arrived much later, I think about a moon or so ago?

Yup! We horned folk are the Au Ra. The whitescaled like me are Raen, the blackscaled are Xaela. Where I come from, smaller, round-eared folk like you are called Hyurs! Apparently in all the other worlds I've learned about, only you guys claim the title of "human".

Well, a lot of people used to call me guzhu, Valley Master. You can if you like, though it's a meaningless title here.

Awwww, that's not really a nickname! Just feels like I'm treatin' ya like an acquaintance through his title! Gotta be special! Usually based on yer name, or somethin' with yer personality!

(( A genuine smile curls his lips and Kexing nods in silent agreement. This strange man has caught his attention and he looks forward to their acquaintance growing. ))

In my language, we call the people close to us a certain way. We add the prefix 'a' to their given name or the second character of their courtesy name. For example, a family member, a close friend, or a lover might choose to call me A-Xing. Ah-Shing.

(( He pronounces it a second time more clearly to help with the pronunciation. ))

Woah woah, family? Close friend?? LOVER??? Ah jeez, I dunno if I should call ya that yet, I mean we haven't even met in person!

[Oh gosh Genbu is red now!!]

But hey, if that's what ya want, then ya got it, A-Xing! When I come from, erm, rather where I grew up, we'd add 'chan' to the end of first names. Sometimes we'd take just the first letter of someone's name and add chan. It's meant to be for somethin' tiny and cute. Ya use it for lovers, kids, cute animals, maybe yer friends if you have a good enough relationship... you'd be Kexing-chan or Kecchan. I'd be Genbu-chan, or Gen-chan. Somethin' like that, anyhow.

Though I've gotten more used to Eorzean conventions than anythin'...

It sounds similar to the use of our 'a' prefix. If it's more comfortable for you to use 'chan', please feel free. Now that we've exchanged names and a little about ourselves, can we not be called friends?
