[There's a video playing. There's no one speaking, but the audio is the sound of small monkeys chittering, as three plump little monkey-like creatures dance in front of the magi-comms camera. While no explanation is given, these creatures are demons known as the three wise monkeys.]
[While characters have they option of closing the video right away, those who watch for more than ten seconds will be affected by their power, forcing them to tell the truth. They may not even be aware that they're being so forthcoming until the effects wear off, and may even spontaneously reveal things that were not asked.]
My, you've all had a hell of a time recently, haven't you. I do hope most of you are on the mend now, yes? So why don't we play a little game?
I think after last month, it would be better for us refugees to get to know one another better!

[While his eyes were still wet, they weren't quite as sad now, this time more determined about something.]

[He's already been waiting all this time. He doesn't want to be left alone. Not after everything he's been through.]
[But if Genbu insists on leaving anyway, the moment he's out of Ranpo's line of sight, he'll feel a sharp pain in his chest -- his Kizuna bond with Ranpo, breaking.]

[Genbu stops in his tracks when he walks down the hall, making a pained grunt as a sharp pain in his chest causes him to wheeze.
No...it couldn't be, could it? Seriously? ...Stubborn little...Genbu could only laugh weakly. If that's how it's going to be, so be it. Ranpo was getting his damm strength back and his damn milkshake, Genbu doesn't care Ranpo hates him forever for it.
He needs to live.
Some nurses run by asking if he's okay.]
Heh. This is nothin'. Try being turned by a sin eater. Everythin' else is like ant bites afterwards. I'll be fine.
[The labored breathing and forced walking didn't look fine, but Genbu was determined to see this through to the end.
And so, five minutes pass. And he walks into Ranpo's room, with that same determined look, carrying...a whole mess of things. How did he even get in??]

[But he's used to this.]
[This is the third bond he's felt break since this happened to him, after all. Friends he lost without any chance of saying goodbye, going back to meet a cruel fate in both their respective worlds.]
[Honestly? He's tired.]
[When Genbu comes back, he'll find that Ranpo has turned on his side, his back facing the door. It hurts to lay like this, but physical pain is somethin he can focus on. It makes his mind alert, even as he feels like his chest is going to split in half.]

...Blast it with this Kizuna crap. Who said a bond could only form from some fancy schmancy magic in the air from some weird timey-wimey Hingashi? Ranpo was his friend, and that wasn't going to change in Genbu's eyes no matter what.
Perhaps such thinking is foolish. Genbu is aware. Caesar called him a fool, Rohan called him an idiot, Ranpo called him simple...and boy he can't count how many times his friends in Eorzea called him stubborn and reckless.
Ranpo could hate him all he wants. Genbu had his fair share of sudden losses with no chance of goodbyes, either. He wasn't going to let Ranpo be next.
But...even so. He knows it's best not to overdo things. Genbu wasn't a complete idiot. So he compromises.
He walks over to the side where Ranpo is facing, and sits down on a chair next to the bed. He places what seems to be two glasses of milkshake, one vanilla, one chocolate. He...didn't know which one Ranpo liked. He then places a bento onto the table as well.]
Ya want me to leave so badly? Fine. I'll leave peacefully. But only after ya eat. Ya need yer strength. I'm not gonna let ya die I'm this hospital.
[For perhaps the first time in front of Ranpo, he sounded like a serious person.]

[Surely Genbu knows who he's talking to? Ranpo was in the hospital because of how badly he was hurt, not because he was starving himself. To say he looks mad would an understatement. This is why Genbu left him alone? When he was nearly crying and begging him to stay??]
[...]
[But he does reach out to take the chocolate milk shake.]
Honestly... you could've called a nurse to bring food, or at least told me where you were going. Not even Dazai-san would have left me alone like that...

Instead, his serious look softens back into sadness and guilt.]
...I wanted to surprise you. Was promising you I'd be back in a few minutes not enough?

[Takes a long drink tho.]
I mean, I do want the milkshake, but-- I wanted you more. So I asked you to stay... and you left.
[Sure, Ranpo will forgive him for it eventually. But he'll probably never forget it. For all that he looks relatively calm right now, he's still having nightmares every night. Even if he wasn't injured, they might have insisted he stay for a mental health break alone.]

[Genbu already reminded Ranpo that he was only going to be gone for a few minutes. That clearly didn't matter to the bedridden man, so Genbu stopped himself, realizing the point of his upset.
He was speechless. His heart can only grow heavier and heavier as despair grows in his eyes. He's at a complete loss, his face absolutely drained from the usual cheerful demeanor he has.]
I'm...sorry.
[...What else can he say? Begging for forgiveness and causing a scene was only going to cause more trouble and put more stress on Ranpo's body. That's the last thing he wants.
As Genbu sits there in silence, Kuppi appears. With their bond broken...Ranpo most likely won't see the floating creature as he flies over to his side. The purple pom on his head glows, and a ray of light beams onto Ranpo's chest.
He's not sure if it'll actually heal anything, but perhaps it'll ease the pain a little? Kuppi can only try and hope.]
