[ His voice is panicked with an edge of fear, every breath ragged and shaking. He's never had any experience with memories returning, and although it's been explained to him, he didn't entirely understand it so it's freaking him out. ]

They said it was something about worlds and speeds and I don't know, it was too confusing and hard to pay attention to, but- they're not supposed to leave you with marks... are they?

Not usually, but this world has magic and curses, so I wouldn't rule it out. Anything can sort of happen.

So it could be a curse instead of a dream?

[ Somehow, that doesn't make things better, but he's still not down with the idea of having lived another life he can barely recall, so a curse makes more sense to him. ]

I'm not sure, I never went through that. But there was someone complaining about a bite mark they had they didn't remember how they got it.

that usually means something else has interfered

something that can physically enter your dreams to manipulate them or enter the realm of dreams to do it there
like a dreamwalker or a demon
dreams themselves, for all that they can be terrible, aren't meant to be harmful
if people experienced the things they did while they were dreaming when they woke up there would be many, many deaths

you have to find out what's causing it first
different methods for different creatures
then either kill it or exorcise it
