[He's taken a few days before coming to this network, mainly observing and getting a feel for it. But now, he wants to try it. So here Runyu is, sitting in his room before a low table with some tea before him. Compared to a few days ago, he doesn't look nearly as regal, his white robes simple despite their numerous layers.

He offers the view a smile, nodding his head politely.]

Greetings. My name is Runyu.

I wanted to start off by saying that I'm grateful to all those who took care of me when I arrived here. With such friendly faces it was rather easy to settle in. Thank you to those I have met so far.

[He might be confused as to how he's being kept here but he appreciates everyone regardless.]

Though, I have noticed that one can find themselves alone a good deal if they lack those from home here. I'm curious to know how people handle this here. What have you done to occupy yourselves? Not everyone is so used to the feeling of isolation so I wouldn't mind learning what you have come up with. It could be interesting.

It is... complicated. When and where we come from, organics fear the geth, and for good reason. Some of our own kind have done great harm to organics at large, and the geth as a whole have done great harm to our creators. We judge that it would be easier to want to understand us without knowing our history.

Yet it still... surprises us...

I see. That would complicate matters a great deal. I have done my own harm to others in my past which has bred mistrust too. I suppose that might be why I am more interested in trying to understand.

There are those willing to give me another chance, to redeem myself. Somehow it feels wrong to not offer a chance to others now as well.

[agglomerate]

That is understandable... Ranyu is wiser than most organics we have run into. To learn from past mistakes, to improve, to understand organic life in order to perhaps better understand our creators: that is what the geth wish as part of our future.

We-- we wish Ranyu the best possible outcome to your own future, even if it cannot be predicted or guaranteed.

Runyu has lived a very long time.

[And made so many mistakes along the way as a result. He sighs a little bit.]

Thank you for that though, Legion. I don't know what my future holds but I know I can only try to be better than I have been.

[agglomerate]

Would it be inappropriate for us to ask how long Runyu has lived?

[dragonrising]

No, not all. I honestly cannot remember exactly but it has been several thousand years.

[agglomerate]

[ Watch all of them optic plates rise straight up and down for a solid five seconds. ]

Is Runyu... inorganic as well? Or like the individual here that eats dreams?

[dragonrising]

Neither actually. I'm organic but I am a being called an Immortal.

[agglomerate]

Acknowledged.

We are still adjusting to this space-time anomaly, therefor we are still building consensus on the fact that there are oganic beings that are immortal, or close enough to it. To live so long as an organic lifeform must be... painful. We do not know if we should offer condolences or not.

[dragonrising]

When you are surrounded by others like yourself it isn't so painful. At that time it is simply a part of the world that you live in. The realm that I come from is filled with others like me as well as other long lived beings.

Does that make sense?

[agglomerate]

We believe so. To offer an analogy of our own: it would be like living with family, correct? Where one can take comfort in familiar things and people, and commiserate with those like ones own?

[dragonrising]

Very similar, yes. I cannot say I was so close to most of those around me but the comparison is a good one.

[agglomerate]

Acknowledged.

We believe that Runyu's hopes are... [ Ah, what's a good word for it... ] noble. It is an admirable quality to seek atonement through redemption.

[dragonrising]

[He looks down, humbled by the acknowledgement. It's not been easy to do this, to essentially isolate himself for hundreds of years while he atones for his crimes, but he is truly trying to redeem himself somehow.]

Thank you. I don't know if I have earned that praise yet but I'm grateful for it all the same.

[agglomerate]

Earned or not, that is our judgement. Doing the right thing is often never the easiest thing. Shouldn't that be enough?

[dragonrising]

I would like for it to be. Though not all would see it so. But, I suppose that is something that you have encountered yourself in your own world.

[agglomerate]

There is a saying we believe is applicable: "Mere improvement is not redemption, though redemption always improves people."

If we can judge that redemption is possible for us, than by logic, we must judge redemption possible for others. Runyu included.

[ They must believe that the mistakes of the Morning Wars can be redeemed, or there really isn't hope for their own people, after all. ]

[dragonrising]

[His lips part for a moment then close. That saying...it's honestly a good one and he takes it to heart. Improvement is not redemption but redemption always improves. It's...very true actually.

Slowly, he bows his head to him a little.]

Thank you for those words, Legion. I'm not sure how to express to you what they mean to me but I can only tell you that I'm grateful you have allowed me to hear them. I think...I needed to.

[agglomerate]

[ A small pause, to consider. ]

We may not always understand organics, but we continue to learn, and if we are able to give assistance as well, then this only proves that we, too, learn from others. We are glad to gave been able to be of assistance.

[dragonrising]

I am perhaps not an organic you are typically used to, Legion. However, if you would ever like to learn more about me then I would be glad to help you. Perhaps I could continue to learn more about you as well in return.

[agglomerate]

...this is an acceptable exchange. We would appreciate the opportunity to learn. There is a great deal we do not understand, a great many questions we would like to ask for many people. Perhaps an overwhelming amount of questions, it would seem.

I like to think of myself as a patient man. I wouldn't mind you asking your questions. Now or in the future. You're someone I've enjoyed speaking with.
