[He's taken a few days before coming to this network, mainly observing and getting a feel for it. But now, he wants to try it. So here Runyu is, sitting in his room before a low table with some tea before him. Compared to a few days ago, he doesn't look nearly as regal, his white robes simple despite their numerous layers.
He offers the view a smile, nodding his head politely.]
Greetings. My name is Runyu.
I wanted to start off by saying that I'm grateful to all those who took care of me when I arrived here. With such friendly faces it was rather easy to settle in. Thank you to those I have met so far.
[He might be confused as to how he's being kept here but he appreciates everyone regardless.]
Though, I have noticed that one can find themselves alone a good deal if they lack those from home here. I'm curious to know how people handle this here. What have you done to occupy yourselves? Not everyone is so used to the feeling of isolation so I wouldn't mind learning what you have come up with. It could be interesting.

I understand isolation, as well as being the only one from their home here. I have found, however, even with a bit of reluctance on my part, that making friends goes a long way.

Friendship can really take you far, can't it. I've seen it do such wonders for people over the years.
no subject
I don't know how far friendship can take someone. It's something that I'm still getting used to.
[ Unless, of course, you can call childhood advesaries friends, but that's neither here nor there. ]

[Not that he can fault him really. After all, it's something he isn't that used to either. Especially after he's lost so the few relationships he's had not so long ago.]

My advice? Make as many allies as you can. Make connections, friends, whatever. Having someone you can rely on is key to survival. Lone wolves may sound cool in story books, but they'll have a hard time surviving in reality if they're alone.
no subject
Lone wolves. An interesting phrasing considering how poorly wolves do without their pack. Though, I do have to admit that I haven't ever really had the chance to read stories before. My life never allowed me the time.
no subject
At least you can read some stories here?
no subject
I suppose I could read them here but I wouldn't know where to begin.

We helped each other, Runyu. I am glad we met.

Why should I sneak when I can walk, now that I'm healing well?

I got a job to kill time until people from my world (sort of) began to arrive.

This... is a question we find ourselves asking often. We are not isolated. It is not a perspective that we understand. We do not understand having only one perspective, for that matter.
For all of our observations, organics continue to surprise us with how they choose to avoid their existential dread.
no subject
They do like to find ways to avoid this dread, it's true. It seems something that is a part of their very nature from what I've seen.
