I have been taken from Hell before I had the chance to do it myself. It saved me time, for sure. [ it's not the first time Satan has broken a timeloop, he is certain he could have done it again ] But I have to wonder about God. Do you think He will be wrathful enough for an apocalypse when He realizes I have left? I certainly think He'd love to lay waste to this world. [ Satan smiles, soft and gentle, but with a certain... coldness behind it ]

Regardless, at least this place isn't covered in humans. It's a big plus. [ he isn't happy there are humans around and still sorta wants to kill them all. BUT. At least there are many non-humans around too ]

For those who have heard of me, I am Lucifer, the Morning Star, the Old Scratch, Belial, Devil, Leviathan, the Serpent, whatever humans came up with. It's tiring to keep up with all the names you've given me. I usually go by Satan.

Yokai kingdom... Is that around here, then? If so, is that where you reside?

Western Kingdom of Yokai. Kyoto is there. [ satan shrugs softly ] I can reside wherever I see fit, and no where in particular. [ he can teleport, which makes it easy and nice. But he would rather remain close to the laboratories that saved them.

After all, he is still waiting for someone to return ]

And I don't truly share the same enthusiasm regarding humans. Perhaps I'm very biased. [ he really REALLY is ]

Oh... So the Western Kingdom is populated by Yokai, then...

[Anyone could reside wherever they wanted, or nowhere in particular, he supposes, though Mettaton's far more wrapped up in the thought of that "Western Kingdom" being more populated by Yokai. He's seen them about in Tokyo, having not strayed far from there and Yokohama. While present, they seem to be in the minority. He'd have to visit both kingdoms, for sure. Humans are very good at staring at him... not that he minds a single bit.

Mettaton hums thoughtfully, imagining this split between kingdoms. It's not hard to do, and it seems a bit nice that they're able to mingle between kingdoms... He doesn't think too hard about it.]

Few could claim the 'enthusiasm' I have for humanity, gorgeous. Not to worry! [Mettaton refocuses, and nods, smirking smugly. He's proud of his Incredibly Thorough Knowledge About Humans (that he gained from movies they threw away in the garbage, he's a professional).] But why the bias, then? Did something happen to you, regarding humans?

[ your knowledge is great until humans decide "how about i want to destroy this" and then things get Rough. But in all honesty, that's not even the main reason why Satan hates them. He hates them because his love interest liked a human girl and Satan is... jealous.

Yeah.

Not that he is going to admit to having destroyed the whole humanity because he was jealous if a girl!!!! ]

A lot happened, and humans are often in the way. Like annoying gnats. And no one wants pests around them.

Humans and gnats... Well. I'll give them both this. They're persistent!! And always around, when you find them. Ahaha.

[Bugs and humans are both stubborn little buggers... Right? But he still doesn't see them like insects, not at all. So Mettaton tilts his head, resting a fist against his cheek.]

I am hardly interested in them. If that is your thing, by all means, go and love those gnats. [ a waste of time ]

Well! [He nearly huffs, with the way he crosses his arms. (How he's still holding his device at a distance... probably has something to do with the way his arm's extending off-camera.)] I will! But that's because I'll always love my beautiful fans, whether monster or human! ...Or, anything else, now that I'm here. I've encountered a healthy host of new beings, after all.

But are you sure there's nothing about humanity you're remotely interested in, Satan-darling? You said hardly... How about TV? Musicals? City skylines, or ooh, how about fashion?? [he could go on.] Maybe even just one human, here or there?

There was a human, once. And then I killed him. [ he really did. To be honest, he didn't mean to. But in any case, Akira can still be saved from Hell, so there is that at least ] Is it really that important that I like humans or not? You can keep them all as your fans.

[There's a lot of flamboyant gesturing going on here. Mettaton is always moving. And a lengthier introduction is interrupted by, well... Even Mettaton can be disrupted from focusing on himself for a reason like this.]

[ maybe mettaton should continue to focus on himself because to explain all of that is just messy and kind of crazy. Even Satan admits to that ]

I loved... [ aha. ] His heart. Pure, gentle and fair. He loved the world just for existing. [ Satan can't help a smile. A sad, nostalgic smile, but one nonetheless ]

I tried to save him but he did not want to be saved by me. [ only by her. The girl, that annoying human girl he was in love with. ] So we fought, and after many years, I delivered the final blow.

Oh my. He sounds principled... And what a lovable man indeed! Surely he knew what he wanted when rejecting your offer, after all. [Somewhat off screen, he plants his hand on his hip.] Humans. They are stubborn... even when you think you're in the right.

[no no he's gotta learn more about this ROMANCE now that it's being dangled in front of him! even if... the human half of it is dead... ???]

What did he need saving from? To go so far as to kill him over it... How harrowing. He must not have thought the same!

The world was going to be taken over by my demons, and I had to spare him from that. [ HONESTLY, Satan just did everything wrong in that aspect. His plans got muddled up because of the person he loved, he killed a lot of demons for him, and in the end he wasn't able to actually show Akira why he should join Satan rather than trying to save the humans. The thought stings, but Satan tries not to show]

I never meant to kill him. [ this is said softly. Satan dragged the war for years because he refused to end it and kill him. Akira's death was... An accidental blow]

So I accepted going to Hell. [ Satan did that to punish himself for what he did to Akira, in truth. And he is willing to admit to all of this because it is also his punishment. To remember it all and accept what he did. ]

How do you accidentally kill someone, darling? It must have been an impassioned kill, a heat-of-the-moment encounter! Sounds to me you were just a little too possessive.

[Mettaton's smile is just a little wry at this point, in disbelief. But he remains cheery, as is his default. Satan's poor human friend/crush... Mettaton sighs, shaking his head.]
