I have been taken from Hell before I had the chance to do it myself. It saved me time, for sure. [ it's not the first time Satan has broken a timeloop, he is certain he could have done it again ] But I have to wonder about God. Do you think He will be wrathful enough for an apocalypse when He realizes I have left? I certainly think He'd love to lay waste to this world. [ Satan smiles, soft and gentle, but with a certain... coldness behind it ]

Regardless, at least this place isn't covered in humans. It's a big plus. [ he isn't happy there are humans around and still sorta wants to kill them all. BUT. At least there are many non-humans around too ]

For those who have heard of me, I am Lucifer, the Morning Star, the Old Scratch, Belial, Devil, Leviathan, the Serpent, whatever humans came up with. It's tiring to keep up with all the names you've given me. I usually go by Satan.

His duties? [ once upon a time, Satan believed his Father had duties indeed. But eventually he came to understand that God ultimately does whatever God wants ]

God does not care. God only wants to be worshiped and if He is not, He will just killing everything. I was part of His angelic army as His right hand, I have killed many in His name. He is a tyrant and tyrants have no duties to anyone but themselves.

Do you, perhaps, have a different idea of what a God is?

A god is a manifestation of belief. They serve a purpose, and play an important role in the lives of the humans who worship them. A god who turns their backs on their people... on their purpose...? A god like that doesn't deserve divinity. They're betraying the trust put in them by their followers.

[ Satan can't help a laugh. That sounds so naive ] I suppose those promises would certainly get you a lot of followers.

Perhaps in your universe, Gods are kinder. But I'll still be biased regardless.

[ Sunny places a smile back on her face, though there is clearly more sadness behind it than usual. ] You might be surprised.

[ She is largely a goddess without followers, these days. No one worships the sun anymore, and those that do worship other representations of it. Amaterasu, uMvelinqangi, Akycha. They all share a domain with Sunny, but the important difference is that they still have people living on Earth who worship them. Other sun gods, like Apollo, Nanahuatzin, or Ra, have faded along with the cultures that believed in them. Sunny-- and her sister Shade-- continue to stick around, because they have not fulfilled their purpose. They were chosen to be gods to watch over the growth of humanity. One by day, one by night. So, as long as humanity keeps growing, so too will they keep watch from the heavens. Followers or not, they made a sacred vow, and neither of them are the type to abandon that. ]

I don't blame you, for your bias. From what I've heard, and what you've told me, you have plenty of reason for it. I'm just... sorry that it had to happen that way.

Sorry for the devil... that's new. [ most wouldn't even believe him, much less feel sorry for him ] Most would just call me a liar and say all my words are lies so I can... steal their soul. [ he snorts, amused. Steal their soul... what use would he have for a soul? ]

You're only the devil because of the system that made you that way. You fill a role, just like any other god or demon.

[ She shrugs. ]

You haven't said or done anything to me that might lead me to believe you were going to try to steal my soul. I'm capable of forming my own judgements, rather than believing what other people say about a person.

[ he isn't a deity, not really. It's a thing humans did, but no one ever asked him. However, Satan opts not to argue because he does get her point]

I'd say I do since I'm not in Hell. And how does a deity describe this place? Do you like it?

[ Sunny makes a face, sort of waggling her head back and forth. She wants to give Satan an honest answer, but she doesn't want to say anything too negative. After all, the people of Gaia have been very welcoming to her so far. ]

It's... odd, not being able to return to my place in the heavens. I just have to keep reminding myself that this isn't my world, and they have their own goddesses and gods here to watch over them.

[ She shrugs, humming softly in indecision. ]

Overall, my experience has been good. But there have been... harder parts. [ Like when she got stabbed. Oh, and that reminds her--! ]

You may want to be a bit more careful than you would normally. I don't know the specifics of you or your usual abilities, but coming to this world may have made you more vulnerable. I know I'm less hardy than I would normally be, and I'm stuck in this body.
