Wait, so you were actually here before?

And you remember everything? Also, new person. At least to you probably. I've been here since August according to the calendar in this place.

So yeah, this is definitely my second adventure here, lucky me right? I know when people leave these sorts of places and come back it’s not always guaranteed that they remember, but here I am so it happens sometimes.

You're the first person I know of who remembers. So far, all of the people I knew and who left haven't come back.

Me? I'm not in a rush to leave. Really weird shit happens here, yeah, but it's still a nicer place compared to where I was from.

[For one, she doesn't have to live like a fugitive on the run here. People aren't as prejudiced against her horns. She's taken care of everything back home, except she's also dead. So yeah... Not in a hurry at all.]

It sucks when that happens, I’m sorry. Even though you know it’s a thing that happens it doesn’t make it easier.

But yeah, I totally feel you. Like I’d rather be here than the alternative. Like I get when people have something to get back to, but some of us are just out here trying to latch onto what we can get.

It really doesn't, but--I've learned that sometimes it's better to have met than never meet at all. I have pleasant memories to look back on thanks to those encounters.

[She kind of wants to ask what would make this girl want to stay here over being in her own world. It's likely nothing good. Still, that might invite questions about Lucy's own reasons, which she isn't ready to discuss with someone she just met because that would be a fun conversation: "I died over and over again in the most painful way possible. What about you?"]

Not eager to go back yourself, huh? I don't have anything to get back to when I leave from here. I already tied up all my loose ends, actually, so I guess that's another reason why I'm not in a hurry.

That’s the best way to look at it at the end. I know I’ve gotten the chance to meet a lot of great people, some I never thought I’d ever get to talk to.

Yeah, same honestly. I already tied everything up, so it’s like time to find something else now. Though, I kinda would’ve liked to have ended up somewhere a little more technologically advanced, this is just way too retro for me.

No kidding. I don't really mind the black and white TVs or the old-fashioned clothes, but it took me a while to figure out how to use the steam-powered home appliances.

By the way, out of curiosity, what did you do with your video and picture service from before?

I wouldn't be able to do that. Not necessarily because I'm shy, but for other reasons.
