How do you distinguish between Fae and Demons?

{Curiosity has gotten the better of him. The former doesn't exist in his world - as far as he is aware - but there are similarities.}

I am seeking a woman. I have been unable to track her, which tells me I might have been fooled.

{Someone must pay for that.}

The Great Dog Demon, my sire, and my dam both can fly. {So why shouldn't he?}

[Her cheeks flared up in a blush as embarrassment floods through her.]

I-I-I see, my apologies as I didn't mean to offend. Only those who are born of Dragon or bird have wings and therefore can fly.

[Okay, the blush fades a little.]

If I may be so bold, how are you able to fly? If I am not being to bold.

{He looks away from her, doing his utmost to be...thoughtful. For him anyway.}

Why does a bird fly? This is natural for my kind.

{It probably has something to do with his magic.}

{Sesshomaru lands them on a hill outside of the city, setting Leanne down gently.}

[It is the thought that counts with her. She smiles when he looked away, thankful for it.]

I see... it is a little wondrous to me.

[Then his announcement of their arrival and... He was being so gentle with her. She leans up to try and give him a brief kiss on the cheek in thanks, before taking a couple steps away to look around briefly.]

You are not a demon. Demonic power can accomplish almost anything if it is great enough.

{The only thing it can't do is stop death. Sesshomaru learned that lesson the hard way.

Her kiss tingles against his cheek and he blinks several times before deciding that he likes her affection.}

Demons.... You seem to have a lot of it as well as being very strong.

[Stopping death, that was a power that not even Leanne can do even if she didn't learn the forbidden magics.

She was merely thanking him for being so gentle with her. Though at his question, she blinks and her cheeks flared up in a blush and she goes to quickly shake her head.]

I am untouched and unmated. I... I am not really desirable enough to have that hope.

[So much blushing and she goes to start fidgeting with a lock of hair.]

I am pure. I would be worthless if I was weak.

{And he would be dead. Long dead. His mother would only protect him so much.

He realizes, belatedly, that his inquiry flustered her. Sesshomaru doesn't have very many soft traits, but he also isn't heartless.}

I disagree. {Usually he would have no interest in a bird - or, rather, a bird demon. She isn't one of those.} I am interested.

[Pure? Does his world have its own version of the Branded?]

Demons value strength the most? In my world... We Laguz help the weakest members of our clans. We find them a place where they can be strong.

[It was something similar to the Laguz but yet not... And her clan, it was considered the weakest at least physically.

But then his words caught her completely off guard and her eyes could see no lie coming from him. Her blush deepens and a wing moves to hide her face as she tries to compose herself.]

Sesshomaru....

[What can she say? She wanted to deflect him as she... She really isn't worthy of such attention from him or any other male.]

May I be so bold as to ask why this one then?

[She wasn't rejecting him at least. Though it could be due to being semi-flustered.]
