[ the camera pans back so a face is visible instead, showing a faint strawberry blonde wearing a fancy, high collared white shirt with a fluffy cravat. he looks a little pale, brows set into a vague frown, and with his bottom lip caught between his front teeth in thought. it looks reddish and like he's been nibbling on it for a while without thinking about it, and here and there there's a flash of small but sharp fangs. ]

Hello, my name is Baein. I was wondering if anyone knows whether people close to you would also get stuck in the time loop and come with you, or if you've found you always arrive alone? If it's possible to meet people you know here?

[ there's a distinct noise of his stomach grumbling and baein curls his arm around it, eyes widening even more before he looks up at the camera again before he takes a breath and straightens as if nothing happened. ]

Anyway, I'm looking for two people like that. They're of faery court and werewolf clan.

[ he's not ready to do this. maybe he figured it'd be easier with a stranger, but lennon doesn't feel like one. he looks too much like jasper. he's close with daeshim.

and baein... baein doesn't know how to deal with himself like this. ]

[ Lennon exhales and he doesn’t exactly move away but he doesn’t press forward anymore. ]

[ baein looks up then and tries to push away the cold rising in his chest. the one that usually chases any lingering warmth from any other source. ]

I'm not alive. You are, and I'd like for you to stay alive.

Then, you won't let me die.

[ Lennon says simply and he stays seated on the table but he does lean back a little, watching the other carefully, his brow furrowed. ]

You're going to have to risk it with someone. I kind of doubt you just wither and disappear if you don't drink.

Please don't give me that much credit. ... I almost... I almost killed Jasper and Daeshim after I turned.

But you didn't. And this is now, here, and that was then.

[ Lennon say simply. He furrows his brow still and then licks his lips. ]

I'm pretty sure they have really good magic medicine here so. Even if I got real bad off I think the chances of me actually dying are pretty low -- if you can even die here...

Then was a week ago.

[ but his resolve is crumbling, and his insides are aching from the strain. and then he frowns looking up. ]

How do you know you can't die? You don't.

Then was still a week ago. Now is now. Now is here and now you've already almost done the worst thing and it didn't happen.

[ Lennon says simply, fingers rubbing along the grain beneath him. ]

And there's magic and time loops and all sorts of things. I've never ever heard anyone ever talking about death or dying happening to refugees.

[ baein looks down then. ]

[ Lennon licks his lips and well, it sounds like he's agreeing to it. That's good. ]

I only trust Daeshim.

[ And sort of Jasper. ]

[narcolepsy]

[ baein swallows hard at that. it means telling daeshim. ]

All right.

[ his voice is a little quiet as he replies. ]

It'll be okay.

[ Lennon says, studying the other because... he kind of gets it. ]

[ he still can't go anywhere, the sun not quite gone enough for him to go out. ]

You can come to my place after dark. Daeshim lives there most of the time anyway so…

[ Lennon lowers his eyes at that, chewing on his lip briefly. ]

And I can make sure he’s home.

[narcolepsy]

[ a pang of longing combined with apprehension sits in baein's chest. he misses daeshim so much, but he also knows this daeshim isn't the one he knows. and one look at lennon tells him that too. that baein is the outsider here.

but he also trusts him, and if anyone could protect someone from baein's vampire side, daeshim could. he hopes he can, at least. ]

[ lennon didn't have to do this. he didn't need to offer this to baein in the first place, but he still did it. so baein's smile is genuine, even if it is a little brittle along the edges. ]
