...of course, if you can't catch that, it's understandable, as she's currently sat atop the giant steel phallus which stars in the festival's procession. and looking distinctly uncomfortable about having to ask this question; )

( she quickly flips her camera to show the steel member she's precariously perched on (thanks, teleportation!) and then shows the closed door to the shrine opposite her.

[Actually. Vennessa makes a face and waves one hand to dismiss the question.]

( Vennessa doesn't get a response for a few minutes, but when she does, Izumi is standing outside the temple.

uh, are those doors broken? (yes, yes they are.) )

( which she's happy for, and she gets the logic in not waiting around, but there's a definite glance back at those doors which suggests she feels guilty about the fact it had to come at the cost of the temple doors. )

Remind me not to use those teleporters again.

[Oh, phew. It did look like a precarious position to be in, so she's glad to see the young woman got out of it safely. She smiles a little, hoping that the expression is reassuring.]

I'm sure they'll be fine to use when the uh... bugs are worked out. [That's what they were calling it, wasn't it? Bugs?]

Though I don't know why they don't have their own people to experiment with things like this... instead of always calling on us.

( Well, Izumi is much more relieved and relaxed now her feet are firmly on the ground, so she returns the smile easily. )

I guess it's part of our duty now? But I'm not sure how they help with time loops...

( that said, the time loop thing mostly flew over her head. It's confusing enough in fiction, let alone reality. )

[The idea of having a duty to the NRL is something that Vennessa did not keep for very long. As far as she is concerned, her duty is to her fellow otherworlders and not to the people who brought them here in spite of what they might try to press to the contrary.]

I expect that they're just a new technology. [She replies thoughtfully.]

The time loop in Nippon was fixed last year... The worst one, anyway...

( Izumi, having only just got here, is still trying to sift through how she thinks about that whole mess. It's so far beyond anything she expected to encounter in life that she's just going with it. )

Oh. I didn't know about that. ( look there was a lot of information thrown at her in a very short space of time. 😭 ) Do we, uh, know how many other loops exist?

Ah... the NRL might be able to give you an exact number?

[To tell the truth, Vennessa hasn't looked into it at all. The time loops seem to crop up randomly and in random places, and she has no idea if they are being kept track of by the refugees in any capacity but they must be keeping track of them at the NRL.

It is a lot of information, and Vennessa had missed out on getting a lot of it first-hand when she had broken a window and bolted the moment she appeared in Nippon.]

If you really want to know. They seem to pop up all over.
