[ Only the top of his perfectly styled bedhead is visible on the screen as he stares at nothing in particular, trying to take in everything around him.

He doesn't like that the ugly little phone he's holding is called a magi-tech.

Noctis isn't sure where to start, isn't 100% sure that the explanation he received upon his arrival wasn't the result of Ardyn continuing to fuck with him despite being on the cusp of reaching the Crystal. The man is, after all, capable of so much. He left his friends behind, overwhelmed by daemons, and stepped foot on the elevator... over and over and over again, Ardyn's voice ringing in his ears, taunting him. That's why he went through the door, that's why he's where he is now.

Admittedly, he didn't fully pay attention at his orientation. He's tired, and he's used to other people (see: Ignis) paying attention for him when it mattered, but he's still almost 75% sure that this is Ardyn's doing. Somehow.

He clears his throat, not bothering to adjust the camera. ]

I'm--

[ He pauses for a second, rethinks asking for more info on his current whereabouts. He's a little wary and he doesn't want to say too much, so he ends up sighing, scrapping whatever he was going to say, and mutters to himself instead. ]

Man, I could really go for some of Iggy's cooking right now. Or a soft bed.

Did they not give you directions to your housing, tho?

[Due to being under a Silence spell right now, he has to resort to using texting.]

Plenty of apartments available as long as you're not too picky. Just figure out where you want to stay.

As for the cooking: you can probably convince someone to cook for you depending on how you look.

[Hard to say based on nothing but a bedhead.]

Can't do much about a bed, but I know of a couple of good places to grab a bite to eat.

Noct? N-no way... Dude, is that really you?

[Prompto doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. There's no way he could mistake that fluffy head or that tired voice. He's not entirely sure he'd be wanted, but he tries anyway.]

Where are you? I've a place... You could crash there?

[ Noct doesn’t reply to the second part of the text immediately, honestly not sure what to make of this reply as he wasn’t expecting anything in return… and certainly nothing about his current sleeping situation. He wonders who this is and why they are casually offering their bed to a complete stranger.

Shit like this would never fly if Gladio was around. ]

[The new coming refugee would be in for quite a surprise once he finds out a lot more sketchy things will be offered and/or thrown at him in the future in this absolute madness of a world. Or so Koro would think if he knew what the guy was thinking.

But even so, if the other showed no interest, Koro isn't one to keep pushing, lest he'd make himself seem sketchier than he already has to be for survival's sake.]

good, good! A lot of people often get lost when they first arrive, so I tend to get worried! I'm assuming they're sending you to the Yoshiwara dorms?

[ Noctis completely ignores the text about the apartments - he was given a housing assignment, but he’s still not fully convinced that this is real and that he’s not going to just wake up back in Eos soon. After the endless onslaught of mind fucks from Ardyn over the last several days, he just can’t accept that this isn’t his doing. ]

why does what I look like matter?

'Cause if you're cute you'll probably have some people falling over themselves to cook for you.

There's free food around sometimes, too, if you don't mind it sometimes being shaped like a dick. It's actually pretty good.

[ Sephiroth would normally insult this person but he is mission bound to give good PR to ShinRa, so instead he offers his very insightful advice. ]

You seem disoriented.

[ A pause. ]

That is normal.

[ But are these places to eat going to be as good as what Ignis would make for him? Noctis is, despite being 20 years old, a child when it comes to eating. He has a zero tolerance policy on veggies. ]

What kind of food?

[ Because it’s easier to focus on this than the other things currently swirling around in his mind. ]

[ you get a sympathetic snort before there is just a screen full of breads and a few smatterings of pastries. someone's been busy (bored? trying to not think about the absolute insanity that is this place? all of the above?)]

Feel free to come grab something, I've reached the point where I have made more than can be consumed by me and my friends.

[ are the friends? whatever, it's the best word choice for jasper right now.]

Depends on what you're in the mood for? [hmm, he pauses to think] A lot of it's local food - noodles, fish and rice, savory food that'll fill you up. Lots of meats and vegetables too. I heard there's a spot that has stuff like hamburgers, but I haven't gone to check it out yet.

[ His head immediately snaps up, attention now focused solely on the device in his hands. Noctis wasn’t prepared to hear his best friend’s voice, to see his equally as shocked face on the small little screen in his hand. It takes him a second before he can respond, words not coming to him as his mind is reeling. ]

Prompto?! [ A pause ] Yeah, it’s… it’s really me.

[ The last time he saw Prompto, he was fighting for his life alongside Ignis and Gladio, blonde hair barely visible in the sea of daemons that had descended upon them in Zegnautus Keep after their battle with Ravus. It feels like forever ago that they rescued him, relief washing over Noctis at the sight of Prompto - actual Prompto - despite the condition he was in. Part of him wonders if this is another cruel twist in Ardyn’s plans, but he feels confident that this is the real Prompto. Somehow. ]

I’m—- I honestly don’t know where I am. They ushered me on to a train toward my housing assignment.

[ It will be a while before Noctis is comfortable in a train again. ]

Just tell me where to go… or maybe just come find me if it’s easier.

I know of a good noodle place. (( Insert location here. )) As to a comfy bed, there are some furniture stores that might help you find what you need.

[It felt impossible... He'd only just gotten here and somehow, somehow Noct was here too? Prompto thought he was going to cry. He was happy, but also... why had Noct been brought here? It couldn't have been because he was here, was it? Surely not. Prompto shook his head and made himself smile and sit himself down so he could talk.]

Wow. Uh, yeah, I could probably meet you at the station if you're on a train?

[And yes, he'd known that trepidation himself. He'd not wanted to go on a train after the last time... But it was one of the only ways to get about, until the teleportation units got fixed.]

Yeah, we get free apartments and stuff here to crash in. They're not much. Mines got two rooms if... y'know. I mean you don't have to... but... [He shrugged helplessly.] It's there if you want it, buddy.

[ Disoriented is putting it lightly, especially after what he's been through and the small amount of sleep he's had in the last several days. Noctis doesn't know what to think, but it's... comforting, in a way, to hear that this is normal. ]

Yeah? [ A pause ] Did it happen to you?

I was given an apartment, but I don't have to stay there. [ He forces a small smile ] I'll take that extra room in yours.

[ This is all so overwhelming, his mind still trying to calm down. Noctis wasn't sure he'd actually see Prompto again, but he's certainly glad for whatever allowed him to be sitting outside of a train station and staring back at the small little screen looking at a seemingly okay Prompto. He doesn't know how they'll have the conversation of "Yeah, so I think Ardyn is responsible for this," but he knows it needs to happen at some point. Not now. Maybe not today. But sometime sooner rather than later.

For now, he's just glad to see Prompto after how he left him. ]

I just got off of the train and I'm sitting at the station... Really missing the Regalia right now.

Then hang tight, Noct! I'll come and get you!

[He was still learning his way around, but he knew where the station was and it wasn't that far from where he was. On his feet now, he's already heading for the door.]

I'm gonna run, so I'll see you soon, alright?

[He flashed a grin before he had to turn the magi-comm off in order to actually concentrate on sprinting to the station. It would take him just over fifteen minutes to run, fill tilt to the station. And by the time he arrived he was breathing hard, flushed and turning this way and that looking for Noct. And when he spots him, Prompto lifts a hand in a wave and jogs on over.]

Hey...!

It will pass soon enough.

[ Sephiroth didn't have it that bad, but he doesn't contradict himself. He's already given his findings. ]

I guess that's where I'm going.

[ Noctis honestly wasn't paying attention, he just got on the train he was instructed to, against his better judgment. ]

I think I missed the name of the place..

A noodle place?

[ Noctis immediately thinks about those damn cup noodles in Lestallum. ]

what type of noodles?

[ Noctis immediately stands when he hears Prompto's voice, taking a few steps before they reach each other. And he wants to hug him, to do something, because fuck, his best friend was nearly killed by Ardyn, he'd just gotten him back, and then had to turn and leave him not long after. But he hesitates, because Noct isn't sure how well received a hug would be since they've never really been the hugging type, so he settles for a squeeze on the shoulder. ]

Wow, it's really you. [ He offers the smallest of smiles. ] I'm... relieved, I guess. That it's the real you.

[ He knows they need to talk about that because so much has happened that they haven't had the opportunity to talk about and work through, but now is not the time and this is not the place to have that discussion. ]

Let's get away from this train station and go back to your apartment, maybe get something to eat.

[ Noctis is a little surprised by the amount of food being shown and offered to him. Usually there's some sort of catch - somebody wants them to run some sort of errand, a hunt needs to be taken care of, something of that nature. ]

Looks good. [ Big fan of bread and pastries ] You made all of that yourself?

That's it?

[ The irritation is noticeable in his tone of voice. Not the answer he was hoping for, though Noctis isn't quite sure what he was hoping to hear. ]

It just passes and everything is fine?

[ He's not entirely sure he'd have people falling over themselves to cook for him, and was going to say as much, except he can't quite get past the second bit of the text... about things being shaped like a dick. ]

Excuse me... What?
