My sister. [She grits her teeth, barely controlling her temper.] Her name is Serah. I also... I need to find a boy named Hope, a man named Sazh and, I guess, an idiot named Snow.

Do... Do they sound familiar?

Pretty much. Being here is probably the last thing I need, but I'm stuck, right?

For now. I know people leave, but I don't know how or anything like that. So at least it's temporary?

Some reassurance. [But it is something.] Is this place falling apart? I'm getting tired of fighting monsters.

But this place is small - if they are here, they will find you, soon enough. But equally so, they might not be here at all.

[It's good, in a way, but frustrating too. Lightning chooses to focus on the latter emotion.]

Let me guess, some powerful deity is in control?

[ He hums thoughtfully, the sound somehow musical, waggling his hand in what appears to be the multiversal sign for 'sort of' ]

I don't know about a deity, lady. When you arrived, the... scientists, I think they call themselves, yes? They might have mentioned a bit, although it made very little sense to me. Something about the world itself, drawing us here, I thought? I fear much of it went past me.

[Yeah. Scientists. She doesn't trust them.]

Figures. [Everything in shadow. Everything a question. All they can do is stay armed and wary.] I wish I could say I'm inexperienced with waiting for answers.

Stay alive. Stay aware. That's the best we can do.

At the least, life here is mostly kind, and the folk here seem good-hearted. Is there ought I could do to help you, Lady?

[She'd rather not know after everything she has seen and experienced. Though scientists aren't to blame for what the gods do. It's just the idea of experiments that leaves a bad taste in her mouth.]

No, I'm fine. I've been through worse. I'm supposed to be the one who helps others...

[Awkward pause.]

[ Noctis calmly watches the woman on the screen, full of the same anger and confusion he was after he arrived. He still doesn't know if he fully believes the things he's been told, why he's here and that it's not some elaborate trick from Ardyn.

But he understands what she's going through and, while he may not be able to help, maybe just offering an ear might do some good. ]

But there's always the chance that they'll find themselves here at some point in the future.

[That doesn't mean she won't search the city herself, but her hope is definitely diminished.

She narrows her eyes and makes a soft sound of assent. Yes, they could end up here. Just like she did.]

I'm not letting my guard down. If they end up here, I'll find them.

I found my best friend here. Didn't think I was going to see him again after the loop I experienced before walking through the door, but somehow we're both here.

[ Noctis shrugs, not really sure what else to say to her. Sure, there's a chance that she'll never see those people again, but there's also the chance that they'll show up much like he did for Prompto. ]

He was here a few weeks before I arrived.

The loop? [Is time misbehaving again? It really needs to stop. Lightning is about to experience a lot of that and somehow live until she's five hundred and twenty-one.]

Good for you. I can't say I'm as close to the ones I'm looking for - besides my sister.

Yeah, the one I experienced right before I came here, reliving the same few minutes over and over. [ A pause ] I thought I'd never see my friend again based on what was happening at the time in our own world.

[ It's... a lot. And he's going to be vague about it because there's no need for a complete stranger to know that they were being overrun by daemons and he was leaving his friends at their urging ]

You're not close to the other ones? What are you looking to do, kill them, then?

It's a long story. The gods crystallize their warriors...puppets...so they don't die after they have completed their mission.

[Wufei's hair is down, though he's not wearing any glasses as he replies.] I'm a recent arrival, myself, but I've not met anyone by those names. I would suggest answering any calls for assistance from the locals -- many of us do, so if someone you know arrives later, you're more likely to find them doing the same. [He casts a glance off-screen, smiling a little as pink sparkles appear around him. If he notices them, he hides it well.]

Alright, alright. Don't make enemies, right? I can manage that. [Until someone attacks her.] I'm most worried about my sister, Serah. The rest can hold their own.

[He's sparkling like he belongs in a shoujo anime.] I wouldn't be terribly worried. Most people here seem to be reasonable enough, and we refugees seem to have elevated social status. [He pauses, and the sparkles fade away.] I'd be more concerned for her virtue than her safety if I were you.

[Her...virtue? Don't sparkle at her and then talk to her about Serah's virtue! Lightning does not look pleased.]

Excuse me? Are you saying Serah might be...? [Does she have to say it?] I would kill them if they even thought about it.

[His brows lift sharply, and he shakes his head.] I don't mean to imply assault. Merely that there are an unusually high number of opportunities for one thing to lead to another. There are even plants that can lure you in here. [You probably don't want to know how he knows that.] And plenty of substances that make you feel more inclined. Be very careful what you accept here, there are often... peculiar side effects.
