Should there be a bird demon in blue here then she is to report to me immediately. She is my maid and is required to return to her duties.

[ She knows that name, though she doesn't recall him being a dragon. Even if there had been an ethereal beauty to him. However, those eyes of hers narrow, and cat ears flatten back a bit. ]

If you mean to do harm then you will do well to stay away.

Whether she be your maid or not, she is not required to do anything she does not wish to here. That is not how this place works.

No one cares what she was or was not required of back in your own world. She's not required to do anything she doesn't want here. It doesn't matter if her service to you has expired or not.

Besides, if she does show up here then she might not even be the bird demon you know. This place does not go by your rules or anyone else's for that matter.

[How dare this mortal speak to him like this. He wants to strike her down for it and it takes a great deal of composure, and the fact that he is unsure of her location, to keep himself in check.]

She will be the one that I know. There is only one of her and I will see that she returns to her service when I have located her again.

[With that, he very much stops looking at the screen of the device he's propped up, a hand tucked at his back.]

[ If she knew that he considered her 'mortal' then she'd probably laugh. ]

Actually, she very well might not be the one you know. She could even show up from a time of not knowing you at all. Where you're not even a thought in her memory. Nor exist to her in the slightest.

[ She scrunches her nose up because the thought of that ever happening to her, where Kexing was concerned, bothers her. ]

When I showed up it was from a time where I was at death's door, in my master's arms, but when I showed up here? He had not gone through that. There was quite a lot he didn't know and yet I'd gone through it, but he hadn't.

[He lets out the heaviest of sighs. This is the trouble with dealing with those from the mortal world. They have no idea who he is and the things he would be familiar with.]

Do you attempt pointless arguments with everyone you speak to? That must be very tiresome.

[ She cants her head slightly. Though, honestly? She could only tell him so much of the mortal world. Even if she knew who he was it wouldn't really mean much to her. ]

It's not pointless. You're new to this world. Same as Yuchi Longyan. Does your world have yokai? Kizuna? If you had a palace or some nice big place within your own world, it does not exist here. Everything is different. There are many time loops and those time loops can bring people from different areas or times.

So, say what you will, but nothing will be as you seem and you will need to get used to the laws and workings of this place.

She would not when she is bound to be for a hundred years. That is the agreement that was made between us.

Typically the description of her would suffice and her name wouldn't be required.

If she has entered into employment with others to supply her needs, would you have her break that without any warning or time to arrange a replacement, simply to return to your side? That seems extremely rude. On your part, but also it might affect her own options, should you leave before she does and she needs to seek further employment.

[He doesn't reply by video. Instead he follows his senses to where the Dragon King is and appears before him. He stares down at him quietly a moment before speaking.]

How long have you been here, Dragon King?

[So he isn't given a choice! Fine. Longyan purposefully pours another glass of wine for his companion.]

Less than a month. You're not too far behind.

[He considers snubbing the drink for all of half a second before sitting next to the dragon to accept it.]

Is this where you live here?

[Be friendly, now. Longyan hides a grin - pathetically - behind his cup.]

For now. I won't stay here for long. It's barely large enough for my human form - much less anything else.

As I understand it, the bonds we form here contribute to the magic that keeps time running properly. So it's important to create relationships with others. That also becomes the cause of these physical changes.
