( Izumi looks... a little nervous as the camera starts up. She's never had to advertise like this before! And, admittedly, the memories of her last reason for consulting the network do play in her mind as she starts up her broadcast, coming live from an empty theatre in Yoshiwara.

Okay!!! Let's do this, Tachibana!!! )

... Um, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Izumi Tachibana. I'm, uh, now the general director of Kadan Theatre in Yoshiwara.

( Okay, with that introduction out of the way, she looks a little more assured. )

We're a new theatre and we're looking for people to fill various roles, such as actors, scriptwriters and staging and costume staff. Of course, anyone with experience in promotions, accounting, or photography would be very welcome too! We'll be holding auditions every afternoon for the next week, so please come along if you're interested. You don't need experience to stand on stage, just the interest and desire is enough.

( She knows she can help rookies blossom. And this time she doesn't even have the yakuza hovering over her head as she does it! SCORE! )

( She can't deny that it feels strange to be entrusting these roles to people other than her Mankai staff, but it's a different world and this young man is very bright and cheerful.

( Oh, Izumi's speciality is roping anyone and everyone into acting, don't you worry. )

That would be tricky if the actors don't know what the play is yet. They might not know what they're signing up for if nothing has been planned out!

[She said as she gives herself a nod.]

You have to hook them in quickly if you want people in the theater!

( Izumi looks baffled for a moment before she realises. Ah, this person doesn't know how they do things! )

Oh, I didn't explain. We use a troupe system. Actors are permanently contracted to the theatre. This way we can design plays to perfectly accentuate our talent's charms!

Ah, I see. Then my apologizes, I was not aware that there was a system of actors where they could do this! I'm afraid these kinds of things aren't exactly what I specialize.

No, it's okay! I should have explained more clearly...

( That's fine. She can rustle up actors somehow! )

Say, have you ever thought about acting?

No, I'm afraid not. To be honest, I haven't thought about it until you asked!

[But now that she actually had the time for it...?]

Although, I wouldn't mind giving it a try as I never acted before.

( Izumi's eyes are sparkling. )

Great! Please come audition! I have plenty of experience helping rookie actors!

( That's true. Most of Mankai was made of rookie actors. New talent is exciting and interesting, and she loves it. )

[Hmm....]

Does it matter how I act? It can be on anything, correct?

[Because now that she actually has the time for new hobbies, does she dare take it?]

Well, you'll be asked to improvise a scene and recite lines displaying different emotions.

( Izumi's auditions are, uh, minimal. )

I see. Then I don't see why I shouldn't try! I say give me a scene and I'll do my best!

[Because she really wants to give this a shot!]

Sure! Come down and we'll start your audition.

Right now? How wonderful! Should I be prepared for what the script is? Or shall I know the moment I get there?

You'll know once you get there.

( It will literally be a couple of lines, no need to fret! )

Then I think I'll have no choice but to go there at once! Although, you'll have to excuse me. Since I am new, I might be late.

[With that, she gave a overly dramatic sigh!]

I'm still new so this world is still unfamiliar for me.

That's fine. It's a big city.

( Heck, she's been going to the modern, non-horny version of Tokyo for as long as she can remember and she still gets lost here in Nippon's version. )

[And with that, off she went! Although, it might take an hour or so until she arrived for alas. This place was certainly a lot more challenging than she thought. Should Izumi look outside the theater, she might find one lost funeral director staring at the place.]

I hope I'm right. I don't want to get lost...

( She does indeed! And that is enough to make her rush to the front door, waving as she pulls it open. )

Hey! You found us, I'm glad.

( A quick bow, because this is the first time they're meeting properly. )

Once again, I'm Izumi Tachibana. The director. It's nice to meet you.

[The moment that Hu Tao sees the young girl, she couldn't help but give off a bright smile.]

And again, it's a pleasure to meet you too! [In return, Hu Tao gave a slight bow.] Now please, do tell me what script I shall be acting for I cannot wait to get started!

( Then please, come inside! Izumi guides Hu Tao to the main stage before she starts on the audition process. )

Okay, to begin with, I want you to say "I did it!" in four different ways. Happy, tired, reluctant and scared.

I did it, huh? That sounds easy enough. Well, here I go!

[With that, she cleared her throat before giving a bright smile] I did it! [And then giving a slight yawn before stretching her arms out.] I...did it. [Then she looked downward before giving a pout.] I...I did it?

[Finally, lowering herself toward the right, she widens her eyes before attempting to bite her fingers.] I...I did it...? [That said? She gave her a look before giggling to herself.] And there! I think I did pretty well for my first time!

( Very cute! Charming. Her projection of her voice could stand to be better, and there's a bit of stiltedness to the emotions, but she's got good basics. More than enough for Izumi to work with. )

Great. That was very nicely done.

( Hm, now for the improv scene. Izumi pauses, thinking for a second, before she has it. )

Now, for your improv scene, I'd like you to act out waiting for your date to arrive at a festival.

[With that, Hu Tao raised an eyebrow before giving a hum. It sounds easy enough. Again, she gave a small huff before crossing her arms and shifting around her weight in each leg. Fidgeting her clothing as she kept looking down at the ground, she mumbled to herself.]

I wonder what is taking him so long. I hope that I didn't scare him off....

[While Hu Tao would have been someone who was more annoyed if said date was a little late, she kept that part to herself. If this scene required her to be a love-struck person, she'll do it.]

I just hope everything will be okay....

( Projection again. But that's very fixable. Most people don't know how to project a mumble before they join theatre, after all.

Once Hu Tao is done, Izumi claps her hands, smiling. )

( She's... not a demanding audition panel, to say the least. )

[Needlesstosay, Hu Tao raised an eyebrow. Crossing her arms, she couldn't help but be a little surprised.]

Really? That's it? Goodness, here I was expecting the process to be much more difficult. I can't complain, especially now that I have the time to master my acting!

[All the while making hand gestures at said word.]

We like to believe in the potential of our actors! ( Also she's used to be desperate to hire just about anyone. At least there was an audition process, this time. ) You have a good basic grasp of how to move and emote, as well as natural charm. I believe we can refine it well.

[ She's not dropping the "Miss", sorry babe. ]

I may not be able to join you right away, but... I think I would like to pursue acting. I'll be part of an upcoming movie, and it has been very pleasant so far, despite my lack of experience.

If you'll have me, of course.

I'm sure your dedication will pay off! Acting on stage and for film have very different charms, but they're both wonderful experiences.

[ Acting, carrying things... and other things?? She doesn't really know his full repertoire just yet. ]

( Excellent. The more talents, the better.

But. Hm. Is it the imagination or did Izumi's smile fade a little at that question? )

Not any more. I didn't have the talent for it.

( That's fine, though! She loves directing. Getting to show people why she loves the stage so much is rewarding in a different way. )

( Unfortunately, her director's words ring too loudly in her mind to consider that option. )

I don't think I could split my focus like that. I still have a lot to learn about directing. It wouldn't be fair to my actors if I acted.

Besides, I left that part of my life behind a long time ago! I'd be way out of practice.

[ Ayaka won't try to change Izumi's mind if she's serious about what she's doing. She was only curious. ]

Then... when the movie I am part of is finished with its production, I would like to audition. It won't be for a while, though. I hope to learn a lot from your directing, too.

( Izumi smiles. )
