(( She lights traces her fingers across the flat edge of the blade. Yes, indeed, she can sense the power humming through it. It's easy to recognize as Sesshomaru's own power. However, the creation of the fan intrigues her. ))

Yes. Purebred Dog Demons all carry their fangs inside of them. {He nods towards his arm and adds:} I lost that arm in battle and when my blade appeared, it brought my arm back with it.

(( She listens intently, her focus still on the sword. ))

A mage's staff is not so personal. We can go through many within our lives, either made by us or for us. It channels our power, but we have no significant ties to them.

[prince_of_the_moon]

{So there aren't any Totosais in her world?}

There is a demon who perfects the blades for us and makes their sheathes. A Mage should specialize in crafting new staffs and matching them with a proper owner.

[atheva]

(( She holds out her staff, quite pleased with the design of it. Its narrow for her small hands, but sports a curved blade on one end to be a practical weapon as well as a magical one. ))

I made this staff to combat a great evil that threatened my world.

[prince_of_the_moon]

{He sheathes Bakusaiga, showing her how the fang must be contained. Then he looks over her staff.}

Have you thought of assisting others with theirs? After the evil is conquered?

I have not thought that far ahead. I wasn't sure I'd survive the last time my world was in danger.

[prince_of_the_moon]

Why shouldn't you survive? Plan on it.

[atheva]

I did not survive by my strength alone.

[prince_of_the_moon]

Life is a gift. Cling to it as tightly as you can.

[atheva]

I won't give up easily. That, I can promise you.

[prince_of_the_moon]

My blade can revive someone once. Only once.

[atheva]

Then you'd best not let those dear to you come to harm.

She isn't with me. {All he can do is hope others are keeping her safe.}

(( Or perhaps it's just pride. From what she knows of Sesshomaru, he is a proud creature. Perhaps relying on another makes him feel vulnerable or weak. ))

(( She can't help the fond smile. ))

Then you know what trouble they can cause. {A lot of it he doesn't want Rin involved with.}

I do. I also know the blow to the pride it would be to accept help from a foolish younger sibling.

He can protect her. {Mostly.} Our great foe is dead. The dangers should be few.

[atheva]

(( Atheva nods and dares lift a hand to his shoulder. ))

You care deeply for those who are dear to you. But, I hate to tell you, you look a mess right now. Why don't we go somewhere to get you clean and changed? I'm afraid you're a little singed.
