[He looks to the weapon calmly. That weapon's power is tied to this demon. A piece of him perhaps. Or a piece of bloodline. It would be difficult to be sure without touching it himself. Which he's not here for.]

Xue Qianxun.

[He looks to Sesshomaru's face again.]

Come at me then.

So be it.

{A chill prickles along his body, but he wanted this - he asked for it. Sensing his own recklessness, he pushes himself into a leaping attack, bringing Bakusaiga down at this...Xue Qianxun.}

[Young but fast. It's impressive. Futile but impressive. The blade swings around to block him without the Immortal looking his way. But soon he looks up and the blade starts to vibrate before starting to spin rapidly to force Sesshomaru back.]

{The sheer force of the impact makes his teeth rattle! Digging his feet into the soil, he tries to stay put, but the strange weapon pushes him against his will. He finally has to leap into the air again to put an end to the onslaught. Temporarily, of course.

He sends streams of magic at the other blade, aiming to knock it off of his opponent.}

[The blade moves away and this time it's Xue Qianxun's hand that sweeps up. Blue magic becomes a barrier that stops the magic as the blade spins behind him. A sign that this is someone with more than a few tricks up his sleeve.

Lowering his hand, he starts to walk toward the demon. It looks like he's about to give his own attack now.]

{Sesshomaru senses that any attack from this man might be fatal. He shifts into his giant dog form to better bear the brunt and barks at Qianxun, snarling. Yes, that drool is poisonous. Venomous, actually. The strange green glow it gives off and the fact that the grass beneath his feet dies instantly are good clues.}

[The dog is venomous. That doesn't deter the Immortal and neither does the new form. Instead, he suddenly rushes forward, rising into the air. And this time it's his fist that comes for the dog with a great amount of force behind it because he can tell that it can be taken.

But a dodge isn't wise either because that deadly blade has rushed around to block that from happening.]

{In the end, he chooses the fist, yelping as he is lifted off of his paws and thrown. Trees are flattened under him, but not for long (unless they are permanently broken). Sesshomaru gets up and shakes his fur, showing no fear as he rushes back into battle, nipping and biting at any piece of Qianxun he can grab.}

[The Immortal swings around to let the dog pass him, aiming another fist to his side in the process. Meanwhile his blade comes to distract the face of the beast so he's less likely to notice the fist coming for him at all.]

{Breath wheezes from him at the impact and Sesshomaru coughs, tasting blood in the back of his throat. Regardless he aims a kick at the spinning blade the second he recovers. That. Needs. To. Go.}

[He watches the focus on his blade. Interesting. He's assessed the problem here. Pulling back, he draws the weapon back to himself to slowly spin behind him.]

This blade is part of me. You will not be so easily rid of it, Sesshomaru.

{Through sheer willpower, he heals his broken ribs, his eyes glowing brighter as he gathers his might. Qianxun is a good opponent; Sesshomaru's mind is focused entirely on their battle. No, he doesn't want the immortal to lose his blade either.

Returning to his almost human form, he touches the sheathe of his second sword.}

Would you say you watch over spirits?

[A strange question to ask in combat but he will indulge it.]

Those are my duties until they can be reborn.

{So Tenseiga might be a better match. He draws that fang instead to give it a try. Unfortunately, no matter how close he gets, the blade will be unable to cut.

Because Qianxun is not a spirit.}

[He senses absolutely no threat from the weapon so he doesn't even move. He lets it pass through him with mild interest before finally catching the demon's wrist to hold it firmly so he can have a closer look at the blade. To get a feel for what it says to him.]

This is a blade of healing. One to conquer death. I am very much alive.

{He glowers when his wrist is caught, expecting far, far worse than a mere examination. That arm has been severed from his body before and he doesn't wish to experience that loss again.}

Alive yet you can walk in the spirit realm?

How else would I guide them to spirits to their next life? I am an Immortal. I am not dead.

[He releases the arm he's holding and puts that hand behind his back again.] You have the potential to be stronger but this blade will never harm me.

You are not a spirit either. You truly are a god.

{He sheathes Tenseiga more to protect it than make a point. His breathing is erratic - those earlier blows did damage.}

Is there a reason I should wish for your death?

Not unless your death is your wish.

[In other words, he knows he is stronger and he's been holding back. So he fully believes he would obliterate this demon if he tried to kill him.]

You are injured. I would recommend you stop before you truly suffer damage.

{That...he respects. Sesshomaru isn't an idiot. It is rare for him to meet someone so much stronger than himself.}

I am not blind nor do I wish to die. You have my respect.

[So the pup can learn. He can appreciate that. It even earns the smallest nod of approval from the Lord. With a wave of his hand, he lets his weapon vanish.]
