(( A perhaps familiar face is on the screen. Or perhaps not so familiar. Ouyang usually keeps to himself and his admittedly small social circle for reasons that are probably obvious to anyone who looks at him: the damned feminine face. The ancient armor he sports does nothing to take the softness from the shape of it or the lost look in his now golden cat eyes. ))

What is it like to have something that's yours and only yours?

(( Indeed, the scale is there, tucked safely beneath his clothes to lay against his chest. He never takes it off, so meaningful is it to him. Nor does he take off the ring Mingye gave him - a matched set that will help them find each other no matter what. ))

I once thought the greatest sacrifice I could make was to die for someone. It's easy to die for someone. What's difficult is living for them. I live for you, khaira. And I die without you.

[dragonrising]

[He smiles at him and can't stop a tear that falls down his cheek as he leans in to give him a lingering kiss.]

Live for me. And I will live for you.

[theatrics]

I do.

(( He swears it as solemn as an oath, finally reaching up to cup Runyu's cheek. ))

But I cannot help what I feel, khairaa. Can you promise me that I will never know of your others? I do not wish to know who they are or what you do.

[dragonrising]

I cannot control what others will share. But I can promise I will never tell you. You have a right to not know and I will respect that. I give my vow.

[theatrics]

(( It's all he can ask. It's enough to pretend Runyu is his. Others may face his ire if they overshare, but never Runyu.

Ouyang's fingers coil in Runyu's robes and he leans in a fierce, possessive kiss. ))

AS far as I'm concerned, you are mine, and no one else's.

[dragonrising]

[Cupping the back of his head, he rubs his thumb through his hair.]

Then that is how it shall be. I am yours. I give myself to you, Ya'er.

[theatrics]

(( Ouyang tips his head forward to rest their foreheads together. ))

Bi chamd mash ikh khairteh, Runyu. But, would you mind if we stay here a while. You should rest and I need to calm my restlessness.

[dragonrising]

You're worrying about me again.

[But he smiles all the same and lets out a sigh.]

Yes. We can stay here. Let's go to a tree to lean against so I can rest while I hold you. Unless you would rather hold me instead.

[theatrics]

(( Ouyang frowns, just a little, and huffs. ))

I'm allowed to worry about you.

(( The General rises to his feet, holding out both hands to help Runyu. Being on the outskirts of the city meant there were plenty of trees to choose from. There's one just a few steps away and he'll give Runyu all the support he needs to get there. But once they settle, it's Ouyangs arms that wrap around his dragon and pull him close. ))

[dragonrising]

[Letting Ouyang help him up, he even leans on him. He knows that right now giving his lover the chance to take care of him is helping Ouyang the most. So he doesn't resist it and settles into his arms gratefully.

Closing his eyes, he sighs and smiles just a little.] I always love how warm you are...

[theatrics]

(( He gathers Runyu close, stroking his hair gently. He knows his beloved is talking about body heat, but Ouyang thinks it is more than that. His fiery personality is easily tempered by Runyu's cool, calm nature. ))

I will always share that with you.

[dragonrising]

[The stroking of his hair makes him melt and Runyu easily becomes a limp dragon in Ouyang's arms.]

It makes me feel... [He pauses a moment as he looks for the right word then realizes there's only one.] Safe.

[theatrics]

You are safe with me. I will always protect you, body, heart, and soul. (( He lowers his voice and lets his eyes drift closed, simply basking in Runyu's presence. )) I am sorry for worrying you.

[dragonrising]

If you are going to worry about me then I am going to worry about you. It's part of loving each other. [Opening his eyes, he looks up and summons a damp cloth to his hand so he can gently clean Ouyang's chin and lips of the blood from earlier.]

[theatrics]

(( Ouyang nods in thanks, but does manage a small smile. ))

Why must you be so reasonable?

(( This time he's teasing. He knows they will worry for each other. That's the nature of their relationship. But it's also a strange sort of feeling. He never worried like this for Lord Esen. ))

[dragonrising]

Because it makes you feel better.

[When the blood is gone, he gives him another kiss then sends the cloth away.]

[theatrics]

(( Ouyang chuckles softly in reply. Indeed, Runyu does know how to set him at ease. Perhaps that's one small part of why Ouyang fell so deeply in love with him. Respect, understanding.

He tilts his head into Runyu's kiss, letting this one linger as if it's a seal to all their promises. ))

[dragonrising]

[It warms him to see that Ouyang is smiling and laughing again. Meeting the kiss, he happily enjoys every second of it, reaching up to cup his face.]

I adore you.

[theatrics]

(( Ouyang wanted to stay close. His arms tightened by degrees around Runyu and he leaned in to nudge their noses together. ))

You are the light of my life.

[dragonrising]

You are mine as well. I cannot imagine my life without you in it now that I have you.

[theatrics]

(( He remained still for a moment, eyes falling closed. After that moment, he breathed out and asked the question burning in his heart. ))

Khairaa, what is you get from others that you cannot get from us?

[dragonrising]

[He's quiet a moment, considering his answer. What does he get from others that he cannot get from them? He's not thought about it before but...]

The chance to heal them. To know their pain and to carry it for a moment. With you and Ye'er, we carry it all together. I would never seek redemption from either of you but I can seek that from others.

[theatrics]

Why can you not seek redemption from us? We would do our best to help you, beloved.

[dragonrising]

Because with you two I want to heal and find peace. To know what it is to have joy that won't be stolen from me. To know that it's joy that I...

[He closes his eyes and shifts to rest his head over Ouyang's heart.]

To know that it's joy and love I didn't try to steal, capture, and destroy to have.

[theatrics]

(( He's silent a moment but lifts a hand to stroke Runyu's hair. He doesn't have to like any of this, but he must accept it. It would be too hard to change things, so Ouyang will keep the pain it causes to himself. He has Runyu's love, that is enough. ))

You have bewitched me, Runyu. I am yours for as long as I live.
