Hi! I'm Ike!

I know some people here are from worlds that are a lot more technologically advanced than Nippon. If you brought your phone with you, it's probably dead by now, right?

I can charge them for you!

I'm a Thunder eleman, which probably doesn't mean a lot to any of the people here, but I can create and control electricity! It's the only way I ever charge mine.

I know some people would probably like having pictures or messages from home, or an easy camera, even if that's all they can be now. And after everything that happened earlier, I thought it'd be a nice way to get to know more people.

I'm in Nihonbashi, but we can meet somewhere else!

Just not in a big crowd, since I don't want to shock anyone if they accidentally bump into me while I charge it.

It won't hurt them much, but they won't like it.

[She so excited about the prospect of having at least some kind of camera she almost doesn't reply back.]

That's no problem! Isn't there like, a little park on [Street]? We can meet there. I run past it every morning, and it's usually pretty empty looking.

That'll be perfect!

I'll probably be the only one there with red hair, so I should stand out!

[And true to his word, he's waiting at a bench in a bright green ensemble, hands folded up in his sleeves... and being stared down by like a dozen nekomata, who've yet to leave the city since that incident earlier this week. He's trying not to make eye contact.]

I'm tall with pink hair, so same!

[Sure enough, Kokoro arrives in an outfit that maybe shows off a little bit too much of her calves, but whatever. She worked hard to be strong, and her calves are nice, damn it. Finding Ike is, actually, pretty easy at least. And she's tall enough to see him over over the heads of the few people that are wandering past.]

Sorry if I kept you waiting, I had to put things away at the place I work at.

[I can't believe Kokoro immediately falls into Ike's one true weakness of tall pretty girls with reddish-colored hair smh.]

[He stands as soon as he sees her, giving a shy wave.]

[Kokoro neatly bows,] I'm Amamiya Kokoro, it's nice to meet you, and thanks again for helping me out. I super appreciate it.

[OH RIGHT PEOPLE BOW HERE awkwardly mirrors her... and also assumes Amamiya is her first name, whoops.]

It's nice to meet you too, Amamiya! So, can you show me your phone? If you don't know what voltage it normally needs to charge, I can figure it out without damaging it.

[Aw! He wasn't being too casual with her. Weirdly, Kokoro appreciated that. There were lots of Westerners - like Mista and Caesar - who either jumped into using her first name, or confusing her last name for her first name. Ah, cultural clashes.]

I think it's 100? That's what all the plugs are in Japan anyway.

[Thanks, international students who complained about their hairdryers not working. She offered him her Pear, an enamel piffle princess charm hanging from where the headphones would plug into normally.]

100... that's probably what your power source supplies right? The actual device might be a little different.

[But even that much gives him a good idea where to start. Too much juice all at once, and he fries the phone. Not enough, and it won't charge properly. Thankfully, all the complexities of converting the voltage and currents is something that comes completely natural to him.]

[He reaches out to take the phone, rolling his sleeves up -- which reveals that both his hands have been carefully wrapped in bandages, surrounding each finger, halfway up his arms. But he won't say anything about it if she doesn't ask.]

[And of course, once he has the phone, he takes a little halfstep back. From his other hand, a few small sparkles pass between his fingers, before he presses a finger to the screen.]

[And after a few seconds -- it lights up, flashing the low-battery screen as it begins charging.]

--there! This might take a little while. I don't want to go too fast and damage it. But I should know how long it'll take after a few minutes.

Oh, cool, thanks.

[ Kokoro is briefly distracted by his arms, and pauses before blurting out, ]

Did you hurt yourself here? Those bandages are really something else. Don't they make it hard to use your hands?

[It's a question he should have expected, but then, not everyone has called attention to the bandages so far. He looks a little sheepish, but he answers.]

Mm... d-don't worry about it! It's, uh. Related to a chronic condition I have. I-It's not contagious or anything, though! It just makes my hands swell a little.

[It's not wrong, even if it's not the reason he keeps them covered. Rather, they're so scarred and bruised, it's usually more alarming to see them without the bandages than with.]

[ Kokoro waved away his protests. ]

I never get sick, so it's not a big deal. But ouch. It's not related to the whole electric thing, is it?

[ She bent her head from side to side as if sizing him up. ]

I wish I had my camera-camera; you'd be fun to take photos of.

Ah, no, it's-- eh?

[Oh, he's not used to compliments. That was a compliment right?? It's making his face go red either way.]

F-Fun? Really? What makes you say that?

[Kokoro thought for a moment, pursing her lips before replying.]

Refreshing kind of look? Like, you kind of look peaceful and the kimono and hakama really suit you.

[ She was also somewhere between six or seven inches taller than he was. Better to not draw attention to that. ]

And the bandages would make someone be like, "I want to protect them" even if you're fully capable to do that yourself.

I don't think I've ever been called peaceful before in my life...

[He's anxiety personified??]

[But uh. He can't really deny the last part. He's gotten that said to his face before.]

But-- th-thank you! I-I'm not used to getting compliments.

No? Well, you look pretty peaceful right now. I mean it. Even if I think I just threw you off a little bit there.

[Tall pretty women stressing him out is just par for the course in his life tbh.]

--ah! It looks like it should take about 20 minutes for a full charge! Hopefully that's not too long? It should be faster in the future, if I charge it when its not completely dead.

[Since obviously he's not offering this as a one time deal. That'd be kind of mean.]

What? Really? You're the super-best, Ike-san!

[There were practically shoujo bubbles sparkling around her, but if she could arrange to meet him like this more often, then maybe he'd be a little more forthcoming about himself. And making a new friend was always worth the effort.]

You'll be my first picture subject, OK? As soon as it's charged.

[Making new friends was totally Ike's ulterior motive here, even if he's also cool with just being an occasional living battery.]

O-Okay! [He almost feels like he should brush his hair first?? He's probably getting a few fly-aways from the static.] Is photography one of your hobbies, Amamiya?

[Kokoro nodded and grinned,] Well, really, less of a hobby now. My parents are photographers, too. And I was accepted for a program at an art college that's pretty prestigious at home to study it.

[She paused and laughed nervously.]

Sorry, I get carried away when I talk about it. But I want to be a fashion photographer.

N-No, it's fine, you don't have to apologize! That's really neat.

[Ike had a passing interest in fashion back home, which is the only reason he's taken so much care to get acquainted with the local styles here. But having never really had a passion for anything in particular himself, he can't help but admire seeing it in someone else.]

I can tell you must have a good eye for it-- you're one of the cutest people I've seen in the city today!

I-I mean-- your outfit is! N-Not that's you aren't cute too, but err... y-you know what I mean!

[Kizuna just casually causing steam to come off his shoulders as his whole face turns red nbd.]

[Kokoro fanned her hands at his shoulders.]

Thank you, I try really hard to look cute!

[Apparently succeeding too-well today.]

[She put her cold, cold hands on his cheeks as if that would help somehow.]

[Okay, he can calm down-- but not for the reason she might be expecting. Because, uh. He's still charging her phone.]

[Which means Kokoro's getting a rather unpleasant static shock upon touching his cheeks, as Ike staggers back out of her reach.]

A-Ah! Careful! I'm still charging this, I-I don't want to shock you!

Ow!

[Kokoro quickly takes her hands back and shakes them out.]

I don't think anything's really hurt; kind of like touching a fuzzy sweater. But you're really warm...

[She peered at him.]
