(( There's concern on the face gracing the screen. Silver's brows are knit together in worry even as the dark curls fall in his face. He bats them back and heaves a small sigh. ))

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but it can't hurt to try. I recently encountered a small snake-like creature while out in the park. He was injured so I brought him home to help keep him safe from any opportunistic predators, but he escaped when I wasn't paying attention. I don't suppose anyone has come across a white snake with a taste for sweet fruits?

[ A white snake. In a park. Xufeng gives this a somewhat amused look before taking pity and piping up. ]

If it is the same one I came across, he is well.

(( His first thought is one of relief, and it shows in the way his features relax. But then he wonders... are white snakes common in Nippon? He doesn't know enough about the local flora and fauna to know with any certainty. ))

I hope they are one and the same.

[ He ducks his head a little, letting the gesture help to hide the little smile. ]

If it is, I am sure he will speak up soon.

It seems as if you know him. If so, please let him know I wish him well.

If he does not hear this, I will be sure to.

Thank you kindly. (( There's a slight pause before he offers: )) My name is Henry Silver. And you are?

Henry? [Amusement battles with affection in his tone. This man is thinking about him?] Do you think the small snake could have been a dragon?

(( The face is not familiar to him, but this man knows his name. For a fraction of a second Silver looks perplexed, then, as if in slow motion, astonishment comes over his face. ))

Was that you?

[longyan]

You are bright! [He grins and sighs.] I'm sorry for worrying you. I found myself in a bad situation and then I turned up here. I had to keep that small form to save my power.

[inthewood]

(( LISTEN. Silver's nothing short of tickled! Meeting magical beings is his jam and he's absolutely and unabashedly thrilled to learn his little snake friend is, in fact, another dragon! ))

Are you better now?

I am not sure I have seen such a creature here. But I could certainly keep an eye out for one.

[He realizes it's been awhile but he does like the man so he can at least offer to help.]

(( Silver perks up at the sight of a familiar face. ))

As it happens, he is also a dragon!

[dragonrising]

[He tilts his head at that.]

The snake is a dragon? I'm not familiar with such a thing.

I'm not sure he was a snake. Just... very small.

[dragonrising]

He must have been greatly weakened somehow then by something...

Can dragons get along?

(( He blurted out the question, wondering if they were the territorial creatures he'd read about as a child. ))

[dragonrising]

Of course. At least they can where I come from. Though my relationship was never strong with my father, I do not mind other dragons.

[inthewood]

(( He pouts briefly at the inaccuracy of the stories he learned. But then again, they were just stories. As far as he knows, no one in his world has encountered a real dragon in centuries. Maybe longer. ))

I'm sorry if that was a rude thing to ask.

[He laughs softly and shakes his head.]

You are a scholar who wants to learn. I cannot fault you for asking questions in order to do so.

That's fortunate for me, then. There aren't many I know who can claim to be friends with a dragon!

Yet here you are, my friend. You must feel so blessed by your fortune.

[He's joking. He's not that arrogant these days.]

(( Henry chuckles, but nods eagerly. ))

Sometime remind me to give you a real blessing for your research. That you may always have the good fortune to find what you seek.

(( In practice, that's probably not always a blessing. But Henry's too curious to care about danger! He smiles brightly, pale eyes lighting up on the screen. ))
