Greetings Nippon, I am Maedhros Fëanorion and I arrived sometime last month. If it would not be too much of an inconvenience I would ask for some assistance.

[Maedhros looks a bit sheepish before he explains himself.]

After a small... accident one of my brothers shirts were, well... destroyed for the lack of a better word. I'm not quite sure where to go to find a replacement for him and would be grateful for any help in the matter.

Of course not. I was a child. Now I am grown.

[ PERHAPS EVEN OLDER THAN YOU, MAEDHROS! ]

And as I am grown, I can care and provide for my family.

Good. I don't want you to feel like it was something you had to worry about.

[No. Even if you're chronologicaly older than him now he'll never acknowledge that fact. Elrond will always be a child in his eyes.]

Yes, and your family can hopefuly help provide for you as well.

[Although he's not completely sure how to make money here...]

If you remember, I still tried to do what I could. Even if I wasn't a very good healer at the time.

[ He looks and sounds amused at the memory.

And of course he'll always be a child in his foster parents' eyes, and his parents too. Just as they will always be his parents. Blood or not. ]

I do remember, it didn't take long for me to realize trying to keep you from the healing ward was an effort in futility.

[It hadn't been an apropriate place for a young boy. But other than tying him up in a locked room would have kept Elrond away. He couldn't help but look back on it fondly however.]

I can't help but feel like I'm just doing nothing. I'm not accustomed to being so idle.

Just as keeping Elros away from watching the training ground was near impossible.

[ Because it had been quickly made obvious they wouldn't be locked away. Kept safe, yes. Inside, yes.

But not chained and locked away. ]

Yes. We all need to find a way to keep busy here.

[ Elrond himself is fortunate to have most of his free time taken up by various clinics that he works at. ]

Indeed. I was afraid he was going to end up trampled for a while, until he finaly gained some heigt so you could actually see him there before he was already underfoot.

[They hadn't had the heart to treat them as hostages, even in the beginning when they were trying to convince themselves that that's what the twins were.

More like tucked under ten blankets because the twins were afraid they would catch a cold without them]

I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.

[ He remembers those terrifying early days where he and Elros had clung to each other under the bed, refusing to be separated. How scared Maglor and even Maedhros had looked when they'd find the twins shivering.

And then the care that had followed. How even stubborn Elros had eventually let the brothers into his heart.

He chuckles. ]

His descendants are all a lot like him.

I have faith you will find something, Maedhros.

[Opening their hearts up for someone else again had been terrifying for them, especially for such small and vulnerable little children. That could have so easily been lost to them at any moment.

But how could they not have cared? When the children were so frightened and alone?]

Stubborn and fierce? He was always so sure about himself and what he should do.

I will have to, just sitting around has never suited me. It would drive me insane after a while.

[ Mirth brightens his gaze and he inclines his head in agreement. ]

Indeed.

Perhaps you could open a forge, or teach people to fight. Or garden.

[ He's...somewhat teasing. At least the latter. ]

[That is good. It would be sad if those parts of Elros hadn't survived the ages.]

They must have been a handfull at times.

I was never too fond of the forge. [It wasn't that he was unskilled in smithwork, he hadn't reached his fathers or Curvo's level but he was skilled in his own right, he just didn't enjoy it.] I wouldn't be opposed to teaching others how to protect themselves.

Gardening? [Elrond might be teaching but Maedhros actually does think he might enjoy doing something more peaceful than swinging a sword around.] Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to try.

All children are.

[ He knows he and Elros had been! And his twins. And Arwen.

Elrond can't help the brighter smile as his suggestions are accepted so warmly. ]

I have come across a number of people who seek to provide a place to teach self defense, and there are always gardens that would appreciate a gentle touch.

That they are. My brothers and cousins certainly proved that to me when they were young.

[The twins had been a handfull but he'd been older and more wise to the ways of children by then so he hadn't been as overwhelmed as he'd sometimes been with his brothers.

Elrond's smile makes him give a fond smile in return.]

Perhaps I should offer my help in that, I'm not without some expertise in such matters. I think I'd like that actually, I'm less experienced in gardening but I think I'd like a little peace in my life.
