[A white rabbit stares at the camera.

And stares.

Then a back leg thumps impatiently against the floor. A flash of magic follows and then Xingchen is sitting where the rabbit had been, his black hair scattered with white strands. He quickly dresses himself and clears his throat.]

Forgive me. I meant to say: if you are near the Temple and find yourself in need of rest or refreshment, you are welcome. All are welcome as long as you come in peace and do not mind cats.

At his question she goes to softly shake her head before smiling again.]

Ah it's nothing my lord Xingchen.

[The smile remains before letting out a small sigh of relief.]

[She goes to listen intently before tilting her head.]

[And to show, a light surrounds her and then once it was gone, she was no longer there but instead a pure white Heron with golden markings around the crest of her head, trailing down her neck.]

[Sucking in a sharp breath, he beams at her transformation.]

[She goes to smile warmly.]

Perhaps I could even bring you some for you and your mate to enjoy together.

But in my world, it was an ability that only those of my kind can do.

[She chirps and ruffles her feathers in a rhythm.]

[She chirps out, 'wagging' her tail feather behind her slowly.]

[For not seeing her as a monster or at least show it.]

Zichen...could use the tea. I fear for his health since... The magic I used on him seems to be holding strong, but...

I worry.

[He frowns sadly before nodding slowly. Her chirps earn a small smile.]

Why do you thank me? You are a lovely heron. I fear I am a rather plain rabbit in comparison.

[She continues to chirp and coo at him.]

Perhaps another time I can tell you, my friend. Not true, you were really cute and if I didn't know it was you, I would have been tempted to pick you up and cuddle you.

[But she is surrounded by light again as she shifts back to her normal form, moving to idly dust herself off a little.]

He shows no outward symptoms, but that is his nature. I can imagine fatigue, however; his golden core has been damaged and his soul has been tested and scarred.

[Bowing his head, he smiles softly.]

[His cheeks pink at the idea of being cuddled!]

I would not have been upset with you. I fear I love embraces too much.

[The change dazzles him and he chuckles in amazement.]

Does it hurt to transform like that?

[She frowns a little as she goes to think. She now wishes that one of the elders came with the youths as they would have known better how to help this man's mate.]

I see.... I will make what I can with my teas but, I fear that I may have to see him myself and...

[Blushing so much right now.]

Even if this one cannot fully control it and if he is okay with it.... I can can try and see more clearly how to help him.

[A small sigh before smiling again.]

My mother and sisters were far fairer than this one. There are others whose beauty makes mine pale.

I do not know your mother or sisters - I am certain they are beauties too - but I have seen you. There is light to you, Leanne, a golden light. Do not value yourself less than anyone else.

[Gold is valued for a reason - and hers is pure. She is one of a kind.]

I was not looking at your hair. [The gold light encases her; it is her aura. He has no doubts on that front.] I have seen other auras - including my own.

Aura? What is an aura? [That is something new to her.] What does yours look like?

It is an energy field that is created by our spirits, our emotions and even our minds.

[The colors can shift, but there is usually one main hue.]

Mine is either grey or white. [Like the moon.]

An aura emanates from the body and can be seen as light if your eyes are trained.

What are you able to tell with a person's aura?

[Is it like a Heron's eyes?]

How elegant... Your aura's color.

The state of their emotions and whether or not they are experiencing chaos.

[Maybe?]

It requires meditation; once your mind is clear and your senses relaxed, you can detect the presence of others.

[It sounds nearly similar to her eyes.]

It sounds fairly close to something we Herons can do.

[But she doesn't want to go further into that.]

Meditation? It might be hard for this one to clear her mind.
