[Kaeya raised his hand in greeting and with a broad smile.]

Hello, everyone. For those who don't know, I'm Kaeya Alberich.

I just wanted to make an announcement. We don't have a date set quite yet, but Diluc Ragvindr and I will be opening a tavern of our own called Before Sunrise.

It will be located --

[THUD.

Kaeya started, shoulders hunching up and the video jerking in response to his surprise. He had no more than those two seconds of surprise and didn't even get to look at what caused the ruckus before an incredibly loud falcon cry was heard.

Kaeya let out a very undignified shriek of his own and the video flipped wildly as Kaeya tumbled right off the engawa he was sitting on. There's another audible thud as he hits the ground followed by a slightly pained groan. The device managed to land upright and said falcon was looking down at it with a tilt of its head.]

[It was a couple minutes once the device is shut off that Kaeya replies, audio only because he's still ruffled.]

I'm not sure if I'm offended or impressed that you chose this post to flirt with me.

[It wasn't a long fall but that still hurt. Ugh. He grabbed the device and glared at the falcon, who only tilted her head again.]

I'm guessing so if she landed here.

[Diluc leans closer to the camera as if doing so might help him to see her at a better angle. It does nothing of the sort, but that doesn't keep him from doing it.]

Clever girl! I wonder how she found us.

[His heart might be beating a little fast. That's his falcon!]

Why yes, I'm fine Diluc, thanks for asking.

[Hmph, but Kaeya does scoot back towards Aqila and turn the camera to her. Kaeya's hand may or may not be partially seen stroking her chest.

Aqila looked at the camera once she heard Diluc's voice, even another (softer) falcon cry.]

Not sure, but she's always been able to find you in Teyvat. She probably just explored the skies a bit before finding a familiar face.

If you weren't fine I'm sure it would have been one of the first things you told me. [Diluc replies with a laugh, shaking his head. It's certainly Aqila, and he knows she would never harm Kaeya on purpose. Despite his insistence that Kaeya not give her treats every time she came home or delivered a message the other man had easily won the bird's affections by doing so.

But right now that seems to be to their advantage. Perhaps she wouldn't have come to Kaeya so readily if she hadn't been so fond of him.]

But maybe you're right. Can you feed her? I'll be back soon.

[Dohalim was about to congratulate the both of them on their new business venture (it's about damn time in his opinion; Diluc's wine is absolutely divine), but as he watches on, he can't help but be endlessly entertained by the fact that Kaeya got spooked by a bird.

So when he does respond, he's very obviously trying to hold back laughter as he brings up a hand to hide the grin on his face]

Are you alright?

[A hand fumbled for the device, since Aqila was still on the engawa she simply stayed where she was but looked curiously at Kaeya with another birdy headtilt.

Kaeya had some dirt smeared on his face and he was rubbing his nose with a wince. Yup, he fell face first.]

I'm fine.

[ilqaras]

[Dohalim can't help but let out a chuckle, feeling the laughter bubble up. he'd been feeling a little moody lately, so this is what he needed, even if it wasn't intended]

As long as you're alright. You might want to get yourself cleaned up.

Obviously.

[He huffed, giving a soft glare to the bird off screen who merely let out a softer falcon cry at him. Kaeya visibly deflated and reached over to preen her chest feathers murmuring, 'Yeah, I know.']

Guess I'll see if she's hungry until Diluc comes home. She actually belongs to him, her name is Aqila.

She is a magnificent creature.

[Dohalim gestures to the side of his face, as if to tell Kaeya that he has a dirt smudge there]

You have a little bit of dirt right there. But the nature of this call is to congratulate you and Diluc on opening your tavern.

[ ...this is the second person he's seen have technical difficulties via the magicomm network today. If he had a gil for every time that happened, he'd have...two. Weird, but neat(?) that it happened twice. ]

[ And so, he reuses the same line from last technical difficulty dfksjah asks again, ]

You okay?

[Look, he wasn't expecting Diluc's bird to just fly in, okay?!

Either way, there's a soft groan, more like a whine, as Kaeya fumbled for the device and pulled it toward him. He was holding his nose with bits of dirt streaked onto his cheeks. He rubbed the area tenderly, only a slight abrasion.]

I'm fine.

[And completely embarrassed that everyone can see this.]

[ So this is the man whom Ayato valued so much... He won't say anything quite yet. It doesn't look like Kaeya's got a busted nose or anything, just a little scuffed up. He doesn't quite smile, but his expression lifts a little, cool amusement. ]

Before Sunrise, huh?

[ You were saying? 'u' ]

[Yes, please, let's move on. Ahem!

He gave one last look to Aqila before addressing the other man.]

Yes. We are still setting up and getting everything in order, but it should be good to go by the end of the month or very early next month, I wager.

Curious what the vibe will be like. [ Comparative to most 1920's Japanese Nippon establishments he's been to. ] Any clues on what to expect?

Ah— Mister Alberich, are you alright? That looks and sounds distinctly like a hawk. Some species are capable of reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour what which they use to clobber their prey through sheer blunt force.

Usually um... to the back of the head like that. Resulting in concussions. And the like.

Please do say something if you think you're experiencing any symptoms of brain damage.

Aqila didn't hit me in the back of the head.

[Kaeya sounded off to the side of the device, still getting up off face planting the ground and rubbing his nose with a soft curse. There's a muttered, ugh, it's not broken, at least and then he's reaching over to take the device off the ground.]

She's a falcon, not a hawk.

[He had a soft abrasion on his nose, nothing serious. He then pointed the device at said falcon, who stood patiently on the engawa.]

She landed there, not on me. She knows better than to think I'm prey anyway, don't you Aqila.

[She gave a much softer cry at him and he reached over to stroke to chest feathers. She let him, obviously familiar with him.]

A falcon—my apologies Miss Aqila.

[ He thought he knew that stock sound effect but Kaeya's a smart and prodigious fellow with good fashion sense, and seems more than acquainted with the raptor. He's still visibly concerned as he cants his head around the screen but if he says he's alright... ]

Was she just that enthusiastic for your joint business venture announcement?

No, I think she just arrived. Hold, please.

[Kaeya set the device down for the moment, letting Aqila looking down at the camera curiously. She let out another cry, flapping her wings at it for a moment and then settling because there was a person on this! How strange.

Kaeya came back only a few seconds later with a sturdy glove on his right hand. He held it out to her and she hopped on. It was probably still a little thin, but her talons didn't pierce the material so it should do for now ]

I think she was looking for Diluc, but saw me instead. Alright, up we go. She's familiar with the both of us, although Diluc is the one who trained her. I just give her vittles which is probably why she detoured to me. You're hungry, aren't you, my dear? Let's see what we have inside.

[Gave her food and earned Diluc's endless ire for it.]

[ He leans forward, nose practically to the screen to take in as much of the majestic bird as he can. The poor quality of these devices leaves much to the imagination but seeing her moving in proximity to Kaeya still manages to be more captivating than a picture in a book or from a pitiful distance at a carnival. Also, safety first is appreciated—Kaeya also manages to avoid being chastised for improper handling at risk of his hands. ]

No wonder she came to you. Food is such a powerful motivator.

[ Anyway, now it is a time for a barrage of excited questions. ]

Is she heavy? Can she snatch things on command? Is she soft? Does Diluc train anything else?
