She fussed around for a minute or two before sighing to herself and just saying to hell with it, she should just do this. Sooner it was done the sooner maybe she could find answers...

Hope everyone's days are going well!

For anyone who doesn't know me, my name's Aerith. For those who do know me, I have a little announcement? Uhm... I may have accidentally become engaged recently! I'm still in a little shock! But very happy!

I hope everyone can also share in my happiness.

Next I would like to inform everyone that I will be unavailable to see for the next week or so.

I am... sick. Highly contagious. No one is allowed near my home for a while! Thank you all for your understanding!

"Accidentally"?

[ But she's suddenly engaged? To who?! ...couldn't be Zack. He doubts Zack would have hid something like that from him. Coincidentally enough, Cloud is sitting down at an izakaya back closer to the growing Neo Midgar district, when he checks his magi-comm and happens upon this. Funny how life pans out. He was prepared to reach out and check in and see what she was up to. Just because he'd moved from his apartment with Zack to get a place in Kyoto, didn't mean he wasn't going to make his return to Tokyo!

But...definitely not what he envisioned seeing pop up on the network. ]

Way to go? [ "Congratulations", Cloud. That's the correct term. ]

Uh-huh. See, he was apparently given these kizuna rings? And I was just minding my own business and he decided to put one on me and I joked whether he was asking me to marry him aaaand... wellll... Guess he liked the sound of that!

[Aerith honestly thought Cloud knew... Admittedly she hadn't told him herself, she'd wanted to a few times, but the conversation had never flowed in that direction. And since they barely saw each other... Cloud had his life to live, she'd decided long ago she wouldn't be a bother any of them, let them enjoy their lives in ways they never could back home. Much the way she had done herself. It was a whole new world, after all!

But she truly had believed Cloud knew. Didn't everyone know?

Luckily she didn't feel like anything was amiss with Cloud's texts and found herself laughing at them instead.]

[ In truth... Cloud had already begun to formulate his own suspicions. Or, rather, the less he thought about the idea, the better for his initial sake. Somehow, should the name truly come up, whichever way he finds out? It'll be less a matter of "how?" and more a case of "I should have known".

Sephiroth once told him that he would always protect Aerith. Just as Aerith spoke so fondly of the man when they both first arrived in Nippon. He would begin his training with his enemy of another time, in a bid to best defeat him and protect Aerith for them both. Should the time come that they all return to their appointed places. But until then... ]

You sure you're okay, by the way? I'm back in Tokyo, so if you need me to grab anything...

You're damn right he's lucky!

[She's laughing to herself, wondering if she should go and tell him what Cloud said. Though then she gets the second text and the laughter is gone.

Cloud is in Tokyo... She'd already brushed Zack off and now she was going to have to do the same to Cloud...

By now she's curled herself into as tight a ball as she could in the corner of her couch. If she could just disappear she would. Aerith was feeling more than a little panicked now.]

No no, no need for that! I'll be okay, it's better if you guys stay away. Sephiroth doesn't do well being sick, the last time he did he broke his hand punching a wall! And I need those hands!

[How was she supposed to tend to her garden if he goes and breaks her hands?]

[ He throws up a brow when she insists that he stay away. Or rather, everyone stay away... This wasn't like her. At least when she willingly gave herself up to save everyone else as the slums fell into disarray, it made sense. But even for being sick... Was she really so worried that he'd catch what she had? ]

Hard to imagine Sephiroth of all people getting sick...

[ Not that he doesn't believe her. It's just something else to wrap his head around. ]

It can happen! Last time it was because he was in prison and it had a power nulling effect that made him feel bad...

[It had worried her a lot, but Feanor, Verstael, Gladio and Tony had all promised to look after Sephiroth while she was outside and waiting. That hadn't stopped him from doing something stupid like shattering his hand though...]

He doesn't do being sick well. Another reason to keep away!

So it null & voided our enhancements...

[ Guess that makes sense, then. ]

Pretty sure I could handle a sick Sephiroth. [ But...considering that he was being trained by the man now, ] You keep an eye on him. Much as he keeps an eye on you.

[ He's ready to believe her. ... for now. Despite the fact he still wants to see her again. But he can wait. ]

Yeah. He really didn't like it.

I promise. I'm keeping a very close eye on him.

[And herself. Aerith was keeping a close eye on the both of them in case of any new changes...]

Better this Sephiroth and not... [ The one they once knew. ] Nevermind.

I know...

[She remembered. She also remembered being terrified the first time she had run into this Sephiroth. Remembered how confused he'd been, and how confused she had been each time he hadn't tried to kill her or manipulate her in some way. His kindness toward her had been a deep shock!]
