[He knows how hard it is for Vegas to be vulnerable like this so he makes a point of tucking himself in nice and tight into the bed.]

There. Now I can't go anywhere.

(( A faint hint of a smile pulls at his lips. He brings Pete's hand up and kisses his knuckles as a way of saying thank you. ))

[That makes Pete shift his head so he can look up at Vegas.]

I ran to my home. You're my home.

(( Vegas cants his head so he can meet Pete's gaze. His expression is serious. Deadly serious. ))

I won't let you leave me now.

[He knows what that gaze means. He really does. Better than anyone here ever could.

But instead of shrinking away from it, he moves closer to kiss Vegas. A promise that he won't go.]

(( Honestly, what can Vegas do in his condition if Pete does realize what a horrible mistake he was making? So it means even more to him that Pete would come back to him when he had nothing to offer except his terrible self. He leans in slightly to meet the other's lips, sighing at the familiar taste of them. ))

[Vegas really can't do anything else right now but that's fine with him. He can enjoy this moment with him while they kiss, pulling back eventually to smile at him.

He's not going anywhere. It's a promise.]

(( He shifts to lay back against the pillows propped up behind him and breathes easy. At least with Pete there, he knows he's safe. ))

[Gently, he makes sure the blankets are up more so that Vegas is nicely tucked in. Then he gets out his device so he can keep doing his investigations. He's partially in bodyguard mode now.
