[The pink owner of Harmony Garden appears on the screen. Gaura has a smile on his face as he starts.]
It seems I might have gone a little overboard planting fruits and vegetables here at Harmony Garden. I was warned I probably had but in an effort to take care of the abundant harvest I've gone ahead and made a lot of pastries with what was grown for people to come take.
[He turns the camera to show off several delicious pastries. On a long, long table inside Harmony Garden. Okay maybe there's a lot more than just "several".]
They're free to anyone who comes to visit. Please take as many as you like. There's sweet and savory available and if you have questions about them when you come I'll be here to answer them.

Action
Without paying much attention to his surroundings, he goes directly to the coffeemaker and pours a mug.]

He offers Tay a smile and goes to get out the man's breakfast. Something light and filled with lots of fruits since he knows the man avoids carbs.]
There's pastries if you want any. I made a lot of them.
no subject
He blinks and starts looking around noticing all the evidence a bunch of baking has been going on in here.]
Why?
no subject
[A simple solution really.]
I know that fruit by itself follow your diet better but you're still welcome to everything I've made.
no subject
[Seems reasonable. Sort of.]
But.. why for free? Couldn't you can them or have a bake sale or..
[He groans and rubs his temple.]
I forgot who I was talking to. If I were going to try just one, which would you recommend?
no subject
[Why not just invite people to enjoy them for free? And then they can see the garden too while they're here.]
Just one...
[Keeping things in mind like Tay only having one and also his diet, he slips outside then comes back with a pastry for him.]
This one. It's more a keto style and it will go well with the coffee.
no subject
[At least, he is learning in theory that it's what his housemate believes. Tay, himself, will never miss the opportunity to build fortune. He has expensive tastes, even in this city.
He raises his eyebrows in surprise that there is a pastry Gaura thinks of right away. He's expecting some big donut or something terribly unhealthy. He resigns himself that he might have to take a bite now just to be polite.
Except, that's not what his friend brings back.]
It's keto?
[He looks uncertain for a moment before picking it up and sniffing it. It sure smells delicious- which almost makes him afraid to eat it. Tentatively, he takes a small bite.]
Oh.. this is really good. The filling is really light.
no subject
[Getting some coffee too, Gaura invites Tay to sit with him a bit. Does he mind that the man is wearing his sweater and no pants? Not at all. It's totally fine with him.]
I'm glad you like it. I made a few of them with you in mind so that if you wanted to try any you wouldn't have to have something heavy or overly sugary.
[He sips at his coffee, enjoying the warmth on his fingers.]
no subject
[Gaura is really a unicorn, Tay is sure of it.
He joins his friend at the table. He's been slowly getting used to this kind of calm, friendly environment. It's strange, but he likes it. He shakes his head in disbelief as Gaura explains he made this particular pastry for him.]
Thank you, that's very sweet. If anyone else wants some of them though, don't hesitate to give them away. One should do it for me. Otherwise, I might end up like a real housecat, fat and lazy.
no subject
[Gaura smiles at his friend, aware that Tay hasn't actually seen how big the table is. Or just how much he's done. A look out the window will give a clue, of course.]
I love to cook and bake. It was fun to make a variety of things to share with others.
no subject
You did all of that?
[He turns back to give Gaura a 'you're crazy' expression. Who does this?]
I understand making a few treats for friends, but that doesn't seem extreme to you?
no subject
[He doesn't appear to notice the expression on Tay's face even though he's looking...directly at it.]
It's nice to be able to share what I have with others a bit.
no subject
[He snickers and comes closer. He reaches up and pats Gaura's cheek affectionately.]
You're crazy. But you're fabulous and cute, so you're allowed.
no subject
I suppose I am a little crazy. But you have to be to leave everything you have ever known to start a new life on your own, I suppose.
[Gaura smiles at Tay.]
Thank you though. I don't know what makes me fabulous or cute but I appreciate the compliment.
no subject
[Gaura might not ask nosy questions, but Tay sure does. That's why he's the premier 'in the know' guy back home.]
no subject
[And his parents never looked for him. So he assumes he was right and they are better off without him around.]
no subject
I'm sorry. That wasn't an option for me, even though half my family would've preferred I wasn't there. Well.. okay, only two people in my family like me. The rest..
[He shrugs.]
I'm not exactly what my father thought of when he thought 'son', if you know what I mean. My older brother was his perfect soldier and me.. not so much. You survive however you can, right?
no subject
[He sips his coffee a bit as he looks out the window.]
Honestly I think you're wonderful as you are. Everyone has their on things that make them unique and that's what keeps the world so interesting.
no subject
[He smiles softly, glad someone thinks so.]
My father used to say I was as useful as a daughter.
[It had always hurt to hear that, but from what Tay could tell, the women tended to be the ones who stayed alive.]
Our community is backwards are far as gender roles, so that is far from a compliment. But! I have a boyfriend from a strong family and he protects me.
no subject
[He shrugs some.]
I like hoping they have a new child now and a happier life.
[He watches Tay a moment, wondering what emotions might be on his face.]
I'm glad that you have someone in your world. It's comforting to have that. To know they're there.
no subject
[His grip on the mug tightens with anger, but he tries to reign it back. But wouldn't it be nice if his father and brother and Gaura's parents were in a plane that crashed in some horrific way?
It's difficult but his mind is pulled back from that daydream to their current conversation. He, personally, would use the word 'necessary' instead of comforting, but he supposes it is that too.]
Mm-hm. That it is. It's difficult here without him, but you and Henry help so much.
no subject
[Though he supposes that would be a challenge for some parents too. It's not like he had any lasting relationships in high school before dropping out to find out. Or ever until Henry.]
I'm glad we can help. You're a friend here now so I'll always do whatever I can to be there for you. You have my word.
no subject
[He'd meant it in more of the general term, but it's good to know his friend's preferences.
He does notice that Gaura has side stepped his question again so he lets it go. He doesn't need to know the reason behind his awful parents being terrible human beings.]
You're a sweetheart, thank you.
[He looks back at the table full of pastries.]
I should probably go get dressed before too many people show up looking for treats here, shouldn't I? Thanks for the nibble.
no subject
[He smiles warmly and finishes his coffee before going to the sink to rinse the cup.]
If you want more later there's a couple boxes over there so you don't have to go into the garden if you don't want to.
no subject
His door to his bedroom shuts even before Gaura is done talking.]
