Hiii~ My name's Will. You can probably guess I'm new here. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this and sorry for being repetitive. I'm looking for someone: a cute fellow Fae with striking blond curls. If you've seen him, could you please let me know? If not, I'll just have to search elsewhere!

We have an affinity with animals, that's true. Those that might be aggressive toward humans aren't toward us... Unless we're a a direct threat.

[It makes sense really. And honestly it feels amazing to finally get answers to a number of his questions that he's had for years of his life.]

Did I ever tell you about the wolf story? Where I tried to pet one on a camping trip with my parents when I was little because I could sense it wouldn't hurt me?

[He's really liking how Will doesn't mind hearing the same things from him over and over again. It makes him smile as he's encouraged.]

My parents and I would go camping all the time when I was growing up. To all kinds of places and even different countries. One time we went and they were setting up camp. I was a curious kid so I went wandering around exploring and they didn't realize I'd wandered away from where they could see.

Well, I ran into a wolf on its own. Right away, even as a tiny kid, I could tell it wouldn't hurt me and it even came closer to see me. So I reached out to pet its nose as it lowered its head to me...

At that point my parents came running and scared it away. They were really upset and everything but I've always remembered that moment. My friends used to tease me that it was just a weird coincidence or something but I just felt like it had to be something else.

(( Riley could read the phonebook and Will would listen. It's not a new story to him, most of this conversation isn't new. But Will just wants to help Riley however he can. If that means having to teach him things again, so be it. ))

Mm. That's definitely your Fae blood at work.

So it was always there and at work. Even though magical things didn't start happening until I was sixteen...

[Wow. That honestly explains a lot.]

It's nice having some answers to things about myself that I've always wondered about. It's been weird always going 'is this a me thing or a Fae thing?'

(( Will nods. It must be a relief to have answer after so long. ))

Are there any other questions you have that you can think of right now?

I mean there's the whole 'how can you even be real?' but that's mostly just me being amazed by you.

[He pops another pastry into his mouth and chases it down with shake.]

But I don't want to make it all about me! I could be helping you to figure this place out!

(( He chuckled softly and shook his head. ))

Okay then. What should I know that they don't tell you at orientation?

Well, you never know what your kizuna changes are going to be. I've seen all kinds of different animals. A fish like me or things like rabbits, wolves, birds, foxes... But then sometimes more magical animals too like a manticore. But they can also do things like change your hair or eye color and just that. Though I think the animals changes are the only ones I've seen that really stay permanent.

[That's the really big one that he knows they don't share with you.]

Interesting. That's linked to the kizuna bonds, right?

[hideawayparadise]

Yeah. As you start bonding with people the chances of you getting changes increases. Some people get a lot of them and some people don't. I don't really know the measure for it honestly.

What an interesting kind of magic!

You can even be given items that run on the kizuna magic here! Like they gave me a katana pretty soon after I arrived. It changes colors with my mood and when I stand still or hold my breath I completely vanish! Like nothing can hear or smell or sense me at all!

[floralias]

(( His brows furrow and he huffs out a breath through his his nose. ))

Are there no rules that govern this magic??

There probably are? But I just don't know what they are yet. And I haven't found any texts so far that directly spell it out.

(( Will rocked his head from some to side. That he could understand. If you put something in writing, it would easily fall into hands it wasn't meant for. ))

That part makes sense to me.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if the histories were lost or if they're hidden away, you know? That's been my experience at least. Admittedly, I haven't been here as long as some others.

We could do some snooping together.

Snooping with friends is the best kind of snooping!

(( A wide grin broke out across his face and Will bobbed his head in agreement. ))

[He laughs a little.]

I don't mind splitting with you.

You sure? It's your first day so you should have all the good things!

[But you can see his eyes staring at it too...]

(( He even slides his hand free of Riley's so he can split the last treat in half. ))
