[He sighs heavily as he messes with the device he was given. He's never been very good with these things. Pushing his hands through his hair, he tries to at least get it recording somehow before giving up and just trying.]

Hey. If anyone out there can hear me I'd like some help finding a way to the a forest of some kind. My sense of smell is really thrown here so I haven't been able to figure out which way is up let alone which way is not city.

[He offers a smile but his eyes, though seeming bright, don't seem to ever focus on the screen before he fumbles with things to try to turn if off.]

Crap. What is the off...?

[He ends the recording completely on accident. But it's also what he wants so...great?]

You are already blind, friend. [Xingchen is making plans for how the procedure should be done.] I think it best if you are asleep for it. If I run into any difficulties, I will pause, wake you and we can try again once the problem has a solution.

But I refuse to leave you in pain.

[typhlotic]

[He's fairly sure there will be a problem or several. With how intense the pain is sometimes he's sure that it can't be a simple thing to remove everything. But he nods.]

If you ever need me awake, know that it's fine. I don't mind. Pain isn't new to me and I can handle it.

[gentledawn]

There are ways I can ease your pain when you wake. I will be careful with you.

[If all else fails, he can share the pain to cut it in half for Silvio.]

You're doing all this and I don't even have any way to repay you for it...

[gentledawn]

Why should you have to repay me? [He nudges a plate of food towards Silvio.] Eat. Relax. You are safe.

[He shifts his attention to the food, starting to eat it. This is the second time in his life he's been granted so much kindness with no expectation. It's...a lot to take in. But he's processing it now. Quietly as he eats.]

[Xingchen lets his new friend enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, sipping on tea while Silvio eats. The cats come to check Silvio out, purring at him to get his attention. One is a big orange boy and the other is a black and white female.]

[typhlotic]

[He smells the cat before they're in the room. Pausing curiously, he sniffs the air again to make sure the animal scent isn't attached to a person before realizing that no. It's just two regular cats.]

...Cats?

[He shifts toward them, easily recognizing where they are.]

[gentledawn]

Two. They are sweet. [Xingchen reassures, bending down to lift the big boy into his lap.] Both are rescues.

[He snuggles the orange boy, grinning at his loud meow.]

I think that means hello.

There's so many animal smells around me that mix with other smells it was surprising that they were just cats.

[He offers his hand to the cat that Xingchen has just picked up to let the boy get used to his scent. After all, he's not a threat to them but some animals need a little reassurance. It's a werewolf thing.]

It must be confusing. But while you are here, any smells you detect are friends.

[Cheng sniffs at Silvio's hand and then gives the man one of his front paws. Sying, the smaller black and white girl hops up into Silvio's lap. Hello!]

I was more worried about them being scared of me actually.

[Considering the fact that he's a werewolf and animals can sometimes be scared of such a predator. So he's surprised when the girl hops onto his lap. But he just strokes her back and offers her a smile.]
