[He sighs heavily as he messes with the device he was given. He's never been very good with these things. Pushing his hands through his hair, he tries to at least get it recording somehow before giving up and just trying.]

Hey. If anyone out there can hear me I'd like some help finding a way to the a forest of some kind. My sense of smell is really thrown here so I haven't been able to figure out which way is up let alone which way is not city.

[He offers a smile but his eyes, though seeming bright, don't seem to ever focus on the screen before he fumbles with things to try to turn if off.]

Crap. What is the off...?

[He ends the recording completely on accident. But it's also what he wants so...great?]

So I can live there. Well, camp until I can figure out better housing somehow.

[He isn't sure how he'll manage the housing thing but he'll figure it out. It's not a necessity for him.]

Hmm. If you're not able to tolerate the weather, it isn't the best time of year to be venturing out unprepared.

[She's not saying that he shouldn't! Just that he should definitely be going out there with the right kind of equipment.]

I know some good places, with easy access to fresh water and good foraging and hunting, though those things might be more difficult at this time of year.

Because it's coming up on winter right?

[He can smell that in the air.]

I'll be fine. I'm used to cold weather. It snows pretty heavily where I come from.

[vennessa]

Mm, that's right.

[But hey, if he's used to it, who is she to warn him too heavily against it?]

Where are you right now? I can probably let you know a few good spots close by.

[typhlotic]

[He slowly lifts a brow.]

I'd say somewhere in a new world where I don't recognize anything so I don't know which way is up.

[Which is, well, what he mentioned before.]

I hadn't realised you were being quite so literal. Didn't the scientists tell you which city you were in you were when you arrived?

[Though if he did something like she did and immediately fled, perhaps he missed the memo.]

I'm told they normally try to be helpful.

Well, I've been walking since then. No way for me to know where I am at this point or if I was even in that city they told me about to begin with.

[Because in case she hasn't noticed like so many others...]

I'm blind.

[vennessa]

Oh!

[She had not noticed. He carries himself so well that it hadn't even occured to her. And they just let him walk off without giving him any help... ugh.]

Well, that does complicate things... Can you hear anyone around you that you might ask? I would hate for you to wander into the territory of some of the more unpleasant ayakashi.

...They're in the city too? People keep talking like they're a forest thing.
