[ Zhou Zishu manages a smile that is mostly normal today - helped, perhaps, but the new robes he'd discovered upon returning home. One of the last purchases his husband had made for him but had squirreled away in a closet to give him later, he presumes. So similar to ones he'd had back home.

But also due to the diligent care of the hoard of people who have been fussing over him. ]

Good evening. I returned to the Four Seasons Manor a few days ago and with the colder weather thought a celebration of friends and family - be they blood or found - might be a welcome diversion.

I am happy to host it here at the Manor. However, I will need help in the form of skilled cooks.

[ YES, ANCESTOR YE, HE'S FINE STOP FUSSING.

Zishu smiles again, the expression warming as his gaze lowers and he inclines his head politely. ]

And should anyone need a warm place to stay, there is some room left here in the Manor.

I'm glad you made it safely, A-Shu. I knew the Manor would be in one piece. Those you have given a home love it too much to let harm come to it.

Aah? He's been fussing over me the last couple weeks.

[ But the proper question, even the request makes him sober a little as he studies the other assassin. ]

I would not mind. My only suggestion is for you to stay away from Gu Xiang.

Likely not, but he wouldn't deny it either. {Baiyi doesn't force emotion when he doesn't feel it. Xie respects that and so he has gotten accustomed to watching the other man, learning what matters to him and what doesn't.}

Of course he wouldn't. [ The grin only widens a little as he resists chuckling. ]

I should return to practicing a new instrument I've started learning here. Perhaps we could play together some time.

[Baiyi is in the orchard meditating when he hears this news. He rolls his eyes. ~~And no he won't!~~]

You look almost like a decent descendant in that robe.

I loved having our house so full. But it's nice that everyone is healing, so I won't complain too much.

What instrument are you learning? I would be happy to practice with you. {His fingers remember most chords, but his plucking is less ornate than it was before.}

[ Of course, the moment he had showed up home he'd been tackled practically and clung to. She had no intention of leaving his side, not yet anyway. She might not understand emotions but she is going to cling to him like her life depended on it. ]

I'll make sure to have tea ready for you.

[ How can he stay sad when Xingchen's cuddling with him? He can't! ]

Aah. Yes. It is rather nice to have a number of people around.

Almost? Lao Wen has always found the best clothes for me to wear.

[ He'd expected both pounce and cling. And a punch for not coming home sooner no matter how much she wanted him home.

So naturally Zishu doesn't bother trying to pry her away from him. And he doesn't want to. He lets himself lean on her, mostly in a playfully dramatic way.

But he also lets her fuss over him in her own special way. He knows she doesn't understand emotions very well, but that doesn't matter. They're family. ]

A koto? I am unfamiliar. {Which just makes him curious!}
