(( But given a little time and the presumption that Kim hasn't wandered too far from where they arrive and hold that orientation... Vegas comes sauntering up from the crowd. He stands out in his Western-styled clothes: the usual trousers and some flamboyant shirt. When he spots Kim he lifts his hand in a lazy wave and closes the distance. ))

[ This place was definitely not normal by his standards at least, and he's see some weird places on tour. He actually listened to Vegas and stayed put. he spots his cousin couldn't miss that shirt of his anyway.]

Good would be a stretch. It's very disorienting to say the least.

That's the sixty-four thousand dollar question. And I don't think anyone has an answer to it. Apparently there's something fucked up with the flow of time or something. I dunno. When I woke up here, I was in the hospital. I didn't get to go to the orientation 'cause of that.

(( Vegas gestures vaguely around them as he starts to walk. ))

You'll see a lot of these animal-hybrid... people around. Yokai and hanyo, which I understand are half-yokai. Then there's refugees like us who can also gain animal features based on the bonds we share with others. It's all very technical. You shouldn't have to worry about it since you refuse to have feelings.

[ Though he wouldn't say it, given the situation he kinda deserved it, but none the less he was not upset that his cousin came out of it. He followed along taking in the things that were pointed out to him.

He's still a little annoyed from the fight with his brother so at the little jab he shifts his eyes toward his cousin.]

(( Vegas just grins and shrugs. ))

[ Please he does not want to think of Pete like that or Vegas, thanks for that. Then there was the question he'd wanted to ask but wasn't sure if he should...]

(( Vegas shakes his head to indicate the negative. ))

You're the only little brother from our cohort. It's just me, Kinn, Pete, and Porsche. Kinn's friend Tay was here briefly, but he's gone now. So, yeah, that's a thing that happens: people just randomly get sent home. There doesn't seem to be any reason behind it. It just happens. Kinda like how we end up here.

And the time thing... Kinn arrived first, but he's from six months in the future from the time I came from. I was still recovering, so Pete and him busted me out of the hospital to be with them and this old-timey Chinese lady with some kind of a magic that's different from the natural magic here. Like real old-timey. Ancient.

Since we've all been here, we started carving out some influence in the Port Market area of Yokohama. It's where most of the gangs and families of this country do their work. I've got a bar there and Kinn acquired a hotel. We're living in it now, but the plan is to open it up as a business so we have a couple of legitimate businesses.

Any questions so far?

[ He had some mixed feelings about Chey not being here, though his expression was ever the same neutral as ever, he couldn't help but initially feel the pang of disappointment. Guess he wouldn't be knowing how Chey actually felt about the song he sang for him anytime soon. Bummer.]

Kinn had mentioned that, before he started talking to me like Ia m an idiot and we fought.
It would seem like this is some sort of collection depot, though no one is sure why we were chosen to be here.

[There was a nod of understanding from him]

It shouldn't be too very hard for us to be able to go straight and narrow, though I am not sure of laws here, we are very much advanced from the way this world looks so far.

[ He pauses to look at Vegas a moment]

Only one. Why are you helping me? Not that it is not appreciated and all.

(( Vegas smirks at that 'straight and narrow' comment. There's been some of that, sure, but there's also been two 'rival' gangs they've wiped out already in typical Vegas style. It's more of a bonding sort of thing for him and Pete, so he hasn't minded being the one doing the Family's dirty work (again). Honestly, Kinn probably would've joined them for the second one if he hadn't been freshly injured.

The question did temper his smile and he exhaled slowly. ))

Believe it or not, Kinn and I came to an accord. Our goals are aligned.

[ Having to Hulk smash a few heads is straight and narrow as for the kind of life they'd all grown up with. Well at least 'good' Never straight in this family. he wasn't trying to be antagonistic just a bit curious. And really didn't want his big brother hurt again.]

You mean for real this time?

Yeah.

(( For a lot of reasons he's not going to explain. He's pretty sure Kinn gets some of those reasons, being ah heir who was also a pawn. They've talked a little about it and that's enough. ))

[ He walks along in silence, milling it over in his mind before speaking.]

I will take you at your word, cousin.

[He looks to him, it doesn't matter why or what happened there to mend the fence. He wasn't the type to pry into that.]

I would be very happy if we could maintain this civil behavior. So, don't hurt Kinn again.

I can't promise that. But I can tell you there's nothing he has that I want anymore.

[ He said then lightly punched him in the arm.]

You're taking care of Pete too aren't you?

(( Vegas arches a single brow. ))

You think Pete needs someone to take care of him?

Admittedly I don't know a whole lot about relationships, but isn't that something you do regardless of if the person needs it or not when you are in one?

(( Vegas doesn't like talking about his feelings, okay? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. ))

Well, we're married now.

(( He lifts his hand to show not only the ring on his finger, but also the diamond-encrusted bracelet cuff on his write. Kim might recognize it as a matching piece to the diamond choker Pete wears. ))
