Hold it steady!

[The feed starts off with a pair of legs standing beside some cupboards. Clearly they'd stood in a kitchen if the tiled floor is anything to go by. The feed raises to find hands resting upon slim hips and then further to find a look of exasperation on Aerith's face. She puffs out her cheeks and huffs at the one holding the magi-comm for her rumbles a reply that just earns him a roll of her eyes.]

You can hold a sword completely still but a camera is hard?

Anyway, Aerith was sure he was winding her up on purpose.

Now that he was actually filming her though, Aerith wiped the pout away and smiled brightly. She even lifted a hand in a little wave.]

Heya! Sorry to disturb you all today, I hope everyone's doing well?

The days are pretty cold, huh? It can be hard to stay warm. So I decided what better way to stay warm... than to bake! It's been keeping me really busy and I wanted to share with everyone.

So today I'm going to be out and about and I hope I can share with everyone!

[Her smile widens as she laughs.]

Some I'll be coming to directly! So don't be surprised if you hear a knock on your door! It'll just be me. And maybe my shadow.

[Aerith would wave, smile... and when the feed doesn't immediately stop, the hands would go right back onto her hips and a hissed "Sephiroth!" would be heard before a low, deep chuckle and then the feed is finally turned off.]

Baking, hm? And who will be getting these surprises, I wonder? Should I prepare a welcome gift of my own?

No gifts needed, Maglor! But you are on my list of people to drop in on today, if you aren't busy?

For you, lótë, my door is always open. And luckily for me, I was baking honeycakes already, so I will not shame my mother with poor manners for a welcome guest!

Honeycakes? Those sound lovely!

My mother's recipe. They were one of Elrond's favourite treats as a child - indeed, they were a favoured treat of all my various kin growing up. [ He smiles at her wryly ]

I'm sure they'll be delicious. I look forward to trying them, Maglor.

[Her own smile is fond, Maglor was such a sweet man. She wished she had something special like that she could share but sadly Aerith really didn't.

That didn't mean that she couldn't make something special of her own to share. Start something new for herself and those she cares about.]

I hope you'll enjoy them, then. Best get here before Maedhros eats them all though. Or I do! [ He winks at her ]

Oh! Well then, I guess I'll just grab my jacket and I'll be on my way! I don't want to miss out.

[After wishing Maglor farewell, Aerith left to grab her jacket just as she said she would.

A quick kiss to Sephiroth's cheek and she was out the door and on her way.

Less than a half hour later Maglor would hear a light knock at his door and outside would be a smiling Aerith and her basket of goodies.]

[ Maglor opens the door with a smile ]

Hello lótë! Come in - tis good to see you.

I think your assistant needs some practice!

[of course he's going to give Sephiroth shit]

You know, I was going to head over that way - should I just stay put?

He's been fired. You just can't get the help these days.

[Such a heavy sigh for such a sweet and innocent little flower girl... but she's grinning. And instead of standing in her kitchen she's now sat at the kitchen table and manning her magi-comm herself.]

I'm still here if you wanted to visit? I have tea for anyone who does! Otherwise I'll be moseying on over later this afternoon!

[he can't hold back a snicker]

Ouch. He must be heartbroken.

Hmm, well I can't say no to tea. I guess I should come to you anyway, considering the day.

Devastated.

[Her reply was deadpan and coupled with a roll of her eyes. And then a grin when Zack continued.]

It's just another day. A perfect day for sharing muffins and tea with friends.

Poor guy.

[equally deadpan, but he's still grinning so it ruins the tone regardless]

Well, you're right about the latter! Let me close up and I'll head over.

Just come round the back when you get here, I'll be in the kitchen.

[Exactly where she'd been most of the day, but it was nice and warm there with the stove on. She'd get to warming up the water for tea and wait for her visitor.]

Yes ma'am. [a cheeky lil grin] See you soon!

[since he doesn't live too far away, it's a relatively quick trip over there. He rounds to the back like he was told and knocks on the door , the gift - because of course he got her something - held up in front of him when she answers.

It's a basket much like this, only with local treats and some he somehow managed to find from home. And tucked into the hamper of goodies is a basket of flowers, chosen exactly because of what they reminded him of]

Happy birthday~,

[Since she'd been waiting in the kitchen, the door is answered almost immediately. Words of greeting stall the moment she sees that basket. Zacks words bring a flush to her cheeks and then a breathless sort of laugh.]

... You remembered, huh?

[Aerith reached for the basket, taking it between both hands while stepping back to turn and set it down on the kitchen table. So she could then turn around and give her friend a big hug.]

I love it. Thank you! Where did you get those flowers? They're very pretty.

Did you think I'd forget? It's an important day!

[he laughs and leans down to hug her back properly] There's a flower shop over in Narashi that I pass by sometimes when I'm over there, figured that'd be the perfect place to find a gift for a flower girl.

[ Sephiroth does as he pleases, and in this case it means focusing the camera on whatever has captured his attention at the moment. And if he lingers a little at the end it's only so that everyone gives her the attention she deserves.

Okay, maybe he is trolling her a little bit too.

Not that he gave himself away or anything.

Sephiroth comes to stand by Aerith after the videotaping is done. ]

Shall I assist you with these?

[ He's already reaching for the rolling pin and really, who knows what he'll get up to. ]

You are so lucky you're hot.

[She laughed and turned when he approached her, facing the counter to watch him reach for the rolling pin.

Aeriths smile widened.]

You want to bake with me?

[ Sephiroth's cooking was never going to be the best, but he had gotten better over the years. Still, baking would be something new for him... ]

And if I do?

[ He brandished the rolling pin like a sword though it was mostly to make Aerith laugh. They both knew it was his first time holding one and while he felt compelled to defend his competency in most areas, being around her allowed him to let down his guard. ]

Just what will you teach me?

[And laugh she did, bright and happy. Aerith had no doubts that the rolling pin in Sephiroth's hand could be used to destroy cities if he really wanted to. But right then she just found him so very cute, sweet and lovable.]

If you do, I'd be very happy.

[Once she stopped laughing she was able to give him her honest opinion. Aerith would love to share her hobbies with Sephiroth. There was something very domestic about cooking with someone you love, that made her feel very warm inside.]

What would you like to be taught? Cakes? Cookies? Bread? Cupcakes to decorate or do you want to make a pie?

[ With his mission accomplished, Sephiroth lowered the rolling pin. He took her hand with his free one and caressed it. ]

What do you want to make?

[ It was her birthday, after all, and Sephiroth was just housebroken enough to know that he needed to be...extra giving today. ]

[Birthday or not, Aerith saw it for the copout that it was. Sephiroth just didn't have a clue what he wanted to do and so he had pitched the idea back her way to choose.

Well fine.

If he wanted to do that... Aerth smirked.]

Cupcakes. Very pretty. Very pink. Cupcakes.

Then that is...

[ Sephiroth lowered his head and brushed a kiss on Aerith's temple. ]

...what we'll do.

[ Was he unaware of her attempt to troll him or did he just not care? Either way, he appeared wholly unfazed. ]

[Well that wasn't fair.

Aerith pouted up at him. Whether he cared or not, it was less funny when it didn't hit the mark.

Then again, as she'd said before, it was lucky he was hot. And absolutely cute. And sweet. And she loved him so very much. So the pout soon became a warm smile up at her tall fiancé.]

And maybe a pie for later...? But I'll want to make all those things eventually.

... I might need more ingredients.

[ Sephiroth's little half-smile at Aerith's cute pouting face gave him away. ]

Do you have enough for now?

[ It seemed she wanted to do a lot of baking. Not that he minded. ]

'Tis good to see you well.

[The video her may not be as colorful as she is in the flesh, but it is enough for Erichthonios to recognize the girl from Aomori.]

[Just the hint of a squint... And then Aerith smiles brightly when she recognises her tall hero.]

Thanks to you I'm doing much better thank you!

Of that, I am glad.

[It puts his heart at ease to see her so vibrant. It is as the difference between night and day.

And she is taking care of herself, too. Keeping warm.]

Are you fond of baking?

[After stretching out her hands to prop her magi-comm against something, Aerith props her elbows on the tables she's sat at and drops her chin upon her hands.]

Mmhm, flowers are more my thing. But I've learned to enjoy baking, too. It's something else I can share with people and those I care about.

Do you like muffins? Sweet things in general?

[Flowers... he shall have to remember that, if ever she finds herself in need of cheering.]

Aye. I like them well enough.

Perfect! I've made so many, would you like me to bring some to you?

If you have any left by the morrow, I shall be happy to have you drop by. I am out today, but shall return to my accommodations in Tokyo this evening.

[ Emet-Selch answers the knock on his door after a protracted wait. It takes him just long enough that Aerith might be having second thoughts about the room being occupied. But answer the door he does. The man who peers through the crack looks like they haven't slept well for a few days. They also look...annoyed by the interruption. ]

What?

[Aerith had been smiling. This was the first time she'd gotten such a reaction from someone and for a moment she didn't know quite what to say. Should she be rude right back? Walk away and leave him to it, since she had clearly disturbed him?

Or should she do exactly what she did and held out the basket she was carrying.]

Do you happen to like apple and cinnamon muffins? I've made a lot... I've been sharing them with people.

[ His eyes drop to the basket. A few seconds tick by where he is clearly having some internal debate. He...IS hungry. The depressive fugue he's been in hasn't exactly been conducive to self-care. And he cannot really bring fault this girl for happening to stop by when she has no idea what he's going through.

The door opens a little further. She can see now how dishevelled his hair is. His robes-- well, it's difficult to "mess up" robes, but the shoulders don't sit quite even. It's almost like he was sleeping. ]

Do you do this often?

Not as often as I'd like. But special occasions call for shared happiness, right?

[Her smile is kinder now, taken in the state of the man that opens the door at a glance but not lingering for long. She didn't want to seem rude. Though she did now worry that she really had been interrupting something and was bothering the poor man.

But something else told her that maybe he could do with a little bothering?

If it turned out she wasn't wanted Aerith knew how to remove herself from a situation. Until then...]

I have chocolate... apple and cinnamon aaaand... matcha!

'Matcha'... [ he repeats, brow furrowing. What was that again? He stares at the proffered muffins, noting that some are decidedly more green than the others. Chocolate is obviously the darker brown; apple-cinnamon must be the lighter. He ends up pointing at a greenish muffin. ]

Fine. I'll have that one. What is the occasion?

[ He would invite her inside, but...well, the room is in about the same state as he is. And he knows he isn't good company even on his better days. ]
