{He sits before a mirror, seeing to his cosmetics for the day. Let no one say his eyeliner isn't pristine! Or that the gentle hue chosen for his lip paint isn't fitting. The Scorpion King knows how to turn himself into a glittering jewel.

Black lion ears shift against his braids and when he looks into the camera directly, his eyes are gold instead of dark brown.}

What do you think of horses? I haven't ridden one since the accident. I wonder if they will even let me near?

{Horses and manticores don't mix.}

I'm going to try. If you're free for an adventure, join me.

[ Spinner's angle on his video is from the coffee bar he's sitting at, propped up on his cup, while he continues to idly watch the window in front of him. ]

I've never met a horse I didn't like, but any change in your energy and they get jumpy.

Manticore.

[ He gives an impressed whistle! ]

How are you feeling about sometimes bein' a manticore?

[ He has an easy, casual way of speaking. ]

Scorpions? They're clever things. Bit cruel, though.

[ His smile is pleasant, as though he thinks nothing of that. ]

You're not a poisonous little thing scurrying around their feet, but the lion of it all might give the horses a fright.

You're wanting a spotter, then? In case that doesn't work out.

That would depend on how solid the groundwork was, horse's age and whether or not its used to seeing things not in its normal daily routine.

If you go by that, people are predators, too. Yet somehow there's a partnership.

All I'm saying is that they know. They don't overthink as people do. If they're well trained and there's a foundation of trust, they should be okay.

... So you weren't a Chimera before getting dunked in this donut?

Not being afraid helps more than treats. If you're not confident, why should the horse trust you? If you're worried, they will automatically assume their lives are in danger and anything you try will fail.

[Weird. She thought horses in the past were definitely more solid and level-headed than the horses of her time. ]

You were the king of scorpions where you're from?

Ah.

It seems like your present could have been my past, but I'm not from that part of the world to learn of it. My country tends to be ego-centric and Xeno-phobic.

Less smelly than a chocobo but a much smoother ride. But of course, nothing can rival the consistency of machina.
emet_sulk: (A12 No I'm not fond of you)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2023-02-11 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Aye. If you mean the four-wheeled chassis then yes, I believe that is the common word for them.

A chocobo is a type of cloudkin however. Often used as a mount or beast of burden.

My apologies. A chocobo is a type of bird. It has strong legs with which to propel itself across the ground, although some have been specifically bred in order to fly.

My partner Kaeya and I ride regularly. If you want to test if one will allow you to approach, the one I usually ride is quite docile.

[Oh, she'd make it clear if she didn't like something, but she isn't a skittish mare prone to shying for no reason.]

I can facilitate an introduction, if you like.

They're quite the majestic creatures, but very skittish. It might be best to try and gain one's trust first with bribes of apples and the like until they get used to you.

I had a friend who used to tame horses, but it was done a bit more... exuberantly than I believe it should be done. [Because the right way is probably not to sneak up behind them and jump on their backs and wear them down or w/e. Probably.

I mean, Mipha's no expert, but she's pretty sure.
