I know they're paying for food and board, but from the look of things, it seems like if we need clothing or anything else we need to look elsewhere or get a job.
Which is a problem, because I'm allergic to work. Any ideas?
[He is. completely serious here, actually.]

i mean, unless you got friends here who don't mind you mooching off them, anyway.

Unfortunately, I arrived alone. I don't mind the dorms, but I'd prefer a change of clothes and three meals a day plus snacks.
un: zeppeli
No one's going to coddle you. You'll likely have to have work if you want extra things.
no subject
Also I do not have an ounce of discipline in my body. Never have, never will.

If you want more clothes, then find a job with the vendor. It's that simple. Even a brat like you should be able to grasp it.
no subject
Eh. Folding clothes sounds like a pain though.

Really? That's where your ability to believe stops?

[Hundreds of years old would make him, what? If this is another Pillar Men type situation, he's going to lose his mind.]

I'm just an adorable, friendly pacifist vampire. And vampires are very delicate creatures, so working a day job would be impossible.
no subject
It's because of one his grandfather got involved in that ridiculous, convoluted mess that ended in his sacrifice and death. It's vampires, pillar men, stone masks-
This person is just another monster posturing like a person. Pacifist? Don't make him laugh.]
Others may fall for your ploys and lies, but I'm no fool. Vampires are monsters through and through and if you are what you claim, then your kind is too sturdy for their own good.
no subject
Because fact of the matter is? Deep down, Kuro agrees.
He's never thought it was a good thing that vampires were created.]
You're right. I am a monster.
[He won't argue there. He's done things-- horrible things. Hurt too many people to count, made too many mistakes.] But even if you don't believe me, I'm not lying. I won't hurt anyone here.
[There's plenty of things he could say: that he's never truly wanted to hurt people, that he hasn't killed anyone in centuries. That his master... his partner, was a better person than he was, and even if he wasn't here, Kuro wanted to be the person he believed he could be.
But what's the point? He's not wrong. He is a monster. He's just trying very hard to be a person.]

The way his emotions settle to a simmer at the other person's acceptance of the insult-one laced with years of wrath and bitterness and anger because vampires aren't people. The creatures leave legacies that destroy families-destroyed his family-and started the pattern of death that would plague the Zeppeli bloodline for years to come.
He hates this.
I won't hurt anyone here, as if that isn't a bold faced lie. Vampires have no choice. Their entire world revolves around hurting others. This one is oddly coherent and empathetic, but it doesn't change who they are at the core. ]
How do you plan on staying alive with that mindset? Don't take me as some idiot who's never dealt with your kind before. Blood and death sustain you.
Don't try to lie when you're so poor at it.
no subject
He can't exactly blame him for the grudge, but...
Part of him wants to drop the conversation and crawl back into his futon, but he refrains. That wouldn't help anything here. His fingers curl around the golden bell hanging from his neck, and there's a long pause as he collect himself.]
Not all vampires are the same. Though I know that won't offer any comfort for your experiences, there's good and bad ones.
Some take blood by force, but many survive on blood willingly given. In my case, I don't need to drink blood to sustain my existence.
[To more than 'exist' however... well.
He'd leave that part out. He didn't want to see what would happen if this guy decided to take advantage of his weakness.]
I went hundreds of years without drinking blood. I can do it again and I will.
no subject
The words on the screen feel like more ploys-like some sort of thrall through text meant to trick him, but-
People are being pulled from all over. It stands to reason otherworldly monsters would follow suit.
He doesn't trust it-doubts he ever will, but for the time being it's a small comfort to know there isn't a bloodthirsty monster on the prowl. That they seem content with not drinking from the living.
It doesn't make them less dangerous or lessen the problem at hand. Doesn't change the fact there is a vampire here that could turn on people in a moment.]
Are you truly a vampire if you don't require blood? How do you survive without your meals for hundreds of years?
no subject
[Well, that was a rough explanation anyway. The truth was that Servamps like him were just different from subclass. They got their power not from blood, but from what it contained.
Drinking from someone unwilling could be highly unpleasant if you felt the terror in their blood while you did it.]
I predate the word 'vampire' in my world, but that's what people call us regardless.
no subject
Seems genuine.
Distrust still apparent, still brimming, he refuses to acknowledge that a different breed of monster is any better than the vampires he's used to. The being won't drink blood, won't hurt people here-at least not yet. That's what he needs to know and what he's placing his 0.1% of trust in this creature in.]
I can't say I believe anything your kind says, but stick to your word and there won't be any trouble from me.

Please rethink what you just said.
It's extremely rude, and not many people even have a place to sleep or food to eat without working VERY hard. That we get both those things for FREE is extremely generous of our hosts.
The least we can do to repay that generosity is offer our skills in the workplace and do our best for them.
un: sleepy ash
But he's still a lazyass. And a vampire.]
It would also be rude of me to make more work for people with my lack of skills though, wouldn't it? I'm grateful for the generosity, but I didn't ask to be here and I'm certainly not equipped for it.

Or perhaps you'd be best suited at cleaning, maybe. Anyone can wipe down tables at a restaurant, or pick up dishes and sweep floors. At least until you're trained in other things.
[And, while no one really asked to be here, the alternative was being stuck in an endless time loop of the last 10 minutes again and again while being fully aware it was happening. In all honesty, the option of being taken in from something like that and treated pretty well from the get-go - when this world really owed nothing to anyone - is of itself something. But Ochako's not ready to argue about it to a stranger on the not!Internet.]

[In other words, a really long time ago.]

[Back in the day made it sound like... hm.]
I don't know if I could find someone like that here, unfortunately.

[That goes a bit beyond 'just old'...]

[This is a little weird? He doesn't talk about this sort of stuff with... well, anyone who isn't one of the other Servamps or Gear.]
This kind of Japanese architecture isn't exactly unfamiliar to me... I've been living there the past two centuries, give or take. Before that, I came from England.

Or, if you feel adventurous enough, steal.
no subject
[Well, stealing yes. panhandling though... well.
Does convincing people to feed him as a cute, adorable stray cat count? Because that's his go to mooching tactic of choice.]
Too bad I can't sell pictures, memes or something like that...
