Has anyone else encountered someone from their world who isn't the way you remember them? For example, they remember things happening that you don't.

I agree. I'm sorry for causing any confusion, but you know I will not lie to you or anyone else.

(( Perhaps more than Xingchen knows since Wei Wuxian never got to meet him while he was alive. ))

I am. Do you want to share a meal or tea or something?

Yes, I would. I need to get to know you properly.

Where are you staying? I know a good place in Yoshiwara for food.

[gentledawn]

I am with Zichen in one of the apartments. [He gives the floor and number.] Should I meet you somewhere?

[diabolique]

(( He texts Xingchen the street name and number for the restaurant in Yoshiwara. It might be a bit of travel, but the food is worth it... OR so Wei Wuxian thinks. ))

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen likes having to walk - he is accustomed to traveling on foot, after all - and so when he arrives at the proper place, he looks quite content. Glancing around the restaurant, he looks for his "nephew".]

[diabolique]

(( If there's something Wuxian can say about this place, it's that the food isn't bad. It's close to what he's used to; not quite right but close enough. He's already been seated and waves eagerly when he spots Xiao Xingchen looking for him. ))

[Xingchen is only too happy to join him, no matter what food they might try! He sits down across from Wuxian and looks the other man over, searching for any injuries that might have been hidden from him? Or simply not discussed.]

I take it you are well?

[diabolique]

(( The only injury Wuxian arrived with is already healed now. Nothing's injured him since. Thank goodness for that. It helps when the whole of the cultivational world isn't hunting him down.

Wuxian nods with a bright smile. ))

I'm great! What about you, are you settling in well?

[gentledawn]

[Yes, that does help. Xingchen would still stand on Wuxian's side. Some might think him foolish for being so loyal, but he has to follow his heart in all matters.]

I am. [He smiles warmly.] This place has been a blessing. So many wrongs have been undone.

[diabolique]

Yeah, it has.

(( Particularly great that the daozhangs are alive and well and have their missing senses back. Their story was just too sad. They deserve another chance at life and happiness.

A wistful sort of smile comes over his face and Wuxian rests his cheek in his hand. ))

I'm glad I'm not the only one here anymore. How is Song-xiong?

Was that difficult for you? [It must have been. His poor nephew! Xingchen smiles back at him, gently encouraging him to speak his mind. He wants to know Wei Ying - Wei Wuxian. That is definitely something he regrets not doing.]

He's...doing well. [His cheeks pink, giving away that, recently, the pair have become a lot more intimate.] I will find a way to bring him back to life. That's the last piece.

[diabolique]

Well, a little. There was no one like us... from our time or a world like ours. It was a little bit lonely. But I've met a few fun people.

(( His expression turns more serious, though he does note theway Xingchen blushes (how cute!). He can surmise why, but chooses not to put his uncle on thespot. ))

I'm meeting with him soon to see what I can do to help.

[He can't resist taking hold of Wuxian's hand and giving it a warm squeeze.]

You're not alone anymore. [He is quite serious about that. Family should stick together, right?]

Thank you. Even if there is nothing you can do, I know meeting with you will bring him comfort.

I feel some responsibility for what happened to him. Something I did inspired him to toy with making fierce corpses he could control. I'm afraid Song-xiong fell victim to that ambition. It's my duty to help if I can.

[gentledawn]

If anyone can help, it's you. [Xingchen is humble enough to admit that he has no experience in this.] No matter the outcome, I am grateful and I hope you don't feel any guilt over the actions of someone who should know better.

I just hope I can help. Song-xiong deserves it. I'll do my best.

He does and I know you will. You're both dear to me and I know there's an answer for him.
