(( The face on screen is a young man's with bright eyes and dark curls. Excitement shines through his expression. There's no trace of confusion, only a bubbly sort of eagerness that creeps from his look to his soft voice. ))

I do hope I'm using this correctly. We haven't such devices in my world.

(( How easily he accepts this new world in which he finds himself. It isn't the first time Silver's found himself in a strange land. At least this one resembles home in the most basic of ways. Other than this device, much of the technology he's seen thus far seems the same. ))

It is my understanding that magic fuels this place. I would be much obliged if anyone would be willing to sit with me and discuss your experiences since you've been here.

(( He pauses abruptly, looking somewhat abashed. ))

Ah, forgive me for getting ahead of myself. This is all so exciting! My name is Silver, Henry Silver, and I am a folklorist. I study the magical and marvelous in my world and I hope to do the same now that I'm here. It's always best to play to one's strengths, is it not?

(( Another pause, and the giddy smile returns to his face. ))

(( More note taking, the scratch of pen on coarse paper before he looks back to Runyu's image on the screen. ))

Where I come from, it's commonly believed that dragons breathe fire. But in other cultures, they have other elemental alignments. IS there a particular element with which you are affiliated?

[dragonrising]

[Runyu finds himself pulled from his ponderings and smiles.]

Water. I'm strongly associated with water and ice in particular. I've no ability to handle fire or heat.

[inthewood]

Interesting. And, sir, are you cold to the touch like a reptile while in human form?

[dragonrising]

I am. My skin is quite cool. If I wish to be warm I require the aid of outside forces such as other people.

[inthewood]

(( Silver writes this all down, his mouth forming the words silently as he scrawls them in his notebook. ))

Could we meet so I could gauge your temperature?

[dragonrising]

My temperature? Yes, alright. I don't mind. May I ask where you are? It would probably be easier for me to find you since you're new.

[inthewood]

Yes, yes of course!

(( Instead of trying to describe where he is, he turns the device around and walks in a slow circle to show his surroundings. ))

[dragonrising]

[Runyu laughs but at least he's able to tell where that is by looking.]

Give me but a moment. I will be there shortly.

[It's convenient being an Immortal here because it means he's able to will himself from where he'd been sitting before to suddenly be standing behind the man.]

Henry Silver?

[inthewood]

(( Silver starts at Runyu's sudden appearance. A hand flies to his chest and he laughs at his own surprise. ))

Yes, yes. I'm Silver.

[dragonrising]

I'm Runyu.

[He offers the smallest bow, polite as befitting of his station.
He offers him a smile after.]

You wished to find out my temperature?

[inthewood]

It's such a pleasure to meet you!

(( And finally! A name he can pronounce without brutalizing it. He bows his head slightly in turn then takes a step close to close the distance between them. Silver's hand stretches out and stops short before touching Runyu. An apologetic look comes over his features and he chuckles self-consciously. ))

Do you mind if I...?

[dragonrising]

[So eager. It's cute honestly. He smiles and shakes his head.]

Go on. You can touch me.

[inthewood]

(( Silver reaches out once more, this time laying the back of his hand against Runyu's forehead. Grey eyes brighten at the touch of cool skin and his lips pull up into an awestruck smile. ))

Do you have difficulties in colder seasons?

[dragonrising]

[That hand is warm and his eyes close as he enjoys the feel of it.]

I dislike the colder weather for that reason actually. The cold won't bother me physically but I don't enjoy feeling that way.

[inthewood]

(( That's quite a lovely reaction. Dear God man, be professional! Silver pulls his hand back with just a little hesitance. ))

How do you stay warm?

[dragonrising]

[Those blue eyes open again and he smiles gently.]

I either love with what I hate or I use outside sources. Sitting near fires, taking hot baths, curling in close to others. Though I confess the last of those has become my favorite.

(( This time his mind flashes to winters with his own lover. They'd often sit by the fire, snuggling close while Silver read to him. Sometimes they'd squeeze in the bath together and soak until the water went cool and their fingers and toes wrinkled like prunes. Ah, Tobias. How Silver misses him. But! He has no doubts that Tobias will find him soon. He always does. ))

I cannot say any of those sound like poor options. I do enjoy being close to my beloved, as well.

[dragonrising]

Those that care for me are determined to see me kept warm. I've been very grateful for that.

[More than he could ever know how to say really.]

I am glad for you. I, for one, feel miserable if I'm not comfortable. I'm happy to hear that you don't have to suffer greatly from the cold.

[dragonrising]

[It would be so easy to deny that. To say that what he deserves it the fate of isolation and cold. That he doesn't have a right to the love and happiness he's found here.

But, this man isn't here to ask about his past. About his crimes. So Runyu keeps all of the weight of that to himself and just bows his head humbly.]

I'm grateful to them. Ah but what other questions can I answer for you since I'm here?

Ah, yes! My apologies for the digression. (( There's just someone he misses very much.

Silver lifts his notebook and scribbles a few more notes before peering eagerly at Runyu. It's so amazing to meet someone so incredibly magical! Dragons, he thought for sure, were gone. Possibly, from his world, but who knows. Most people think fairies and ghosts and vampires are gone, too. Imaginary. Silver knows better. ))

What does a dragon's diet consist of?

[dragonrising]

[That gets a laugh from the dragon as he steps closer, unable to stop being curious about the notes.]

Unless you eat something unusual then I eat the same things you do.

Even in your natural form?

(( He doesn't mind Runyu looking at his notes. His handwriting is scratchy with big flourishes on letters that go above or below the baseline. It's mostly what they discuss verbatim, to be organized into something more sensible at a later time. ))

I'm usually like this. I very rarely take my natural form.

Yes, I suppose it is difficult to socialize with others in such a large shape.
