Good evening,
I was hoping to learn if one has any idea where they ought to go for a proper marriage license. Or, truly, how weddings even take place here. My attempts haven't borne fruit, and it is quite vexing.
With best regards, Miss E. Pendleton [Victorians.]

We went through the church, at home.

[It helps that Jonathan is a perfect gentleman.]
I shall let my other half know.

[ he's not sorry for this word salad, erina ]

I will take your advisement in the future, but I admit it did take me a moment to realise what it was you had said. I thought it more as a formal request. One must always sign their name to a request, you see.

its shorthand :) u know
fast texting
i mean idk if this is that formal
if u were already at the courthouse it would be

I'm afraid I'm not having much luck either. Something tells me that we won't have the banns to deal with here though.
un: lancet
Though it was suggested we visit a government office; I suppose here, things do not go through the church alone.

I'll have you at the end of it and that is all that matters to me.
no subject
Soon! But until then, strolls and separate living. I suppose.
[Truly, suffering.]

[Wait. She knows that name.]

I'm surprised to hear anyone would want to be married in this town.
Wouldn't you prefer it to happen in your own world?

Also, please forgive my curiosity and prying, but your name - is it related to anything in particular?
no subject
Zeppeli is my family name. It felt like an appropriate username too.
no subject
I see! Well, is it a common family name in Italy? I once knew someone else with that surname. A friend of my fiancé's, you see.
no subject
Oh.]
Will Zeppeli?
Are you Jonathan Joestar's bride to be?
no subject
Oh! Yes, that was his name. I didn't know him very long, personally, but Lord Joestar spoke highly of him.
I'm happy to see you are acquainted with my fiancé.
He is a very kind man, after all.
no subject
Well, she doesn't know. Maybe it's fine.]
He's my roommate for the time being.
And he should have. My grandfather was a great man from a long line of Zeppelis. He is worthy of that admiration.

[Do forgive her if she doesn't quite trust his judgment on that. Frog punching, beloved-kidnapping and all.]

Or if you're not the religious type or things get complicated, you can just go to a judge.
I heard some people just hold hands and walk around a tree or a really interesting rock or whatever else is around?
[ Except in her world it's pretty much only druids who do that, unless you're super isolated from the rest of society and there's no cleric or government officials around ]
Not sure how much of that carries over to here. I think the official government paperwork stuff is going to be the most important part; anything else is just ceremonial.

So unless things are very different here, I'm pretty sure that in order to be legally binding, you need to have witnesses.
You alright on that front?

I've gathered some information while I was here, but I never tried to marry anyone so I'm still not aware of the exact process. Still, it looks like you'll have to go over here:
[And she just gives the address for the municipal government office]
They'll provide the paperwork, but if you want anything else, you're on your own for that.
