Good evening,

I was hoping to learn if one has any idea where they ought to go for a proper marriage license. Or, truly, how weddings even take place here. My attempts haven't borne fruit, and it is quite vexing.

With best regards, Miss E. Pendleton

Most people where I'm from go to a cleric, but a lot of that depends on what god you want to pay respects to at the time and that can get complicated. You still have to sign some government papers later to get any benefits like stipends if one of you is in the military and then that person dies, but some temples help with the process. Which is helpful, because no one likes paperwork.

Or if you're not the religious type or things get complicated, you can just go to a judge.

I heard some people just hold hands and walk around a tree or a really interesting rock or whatever else is around?

[ Except in her world it's pretty much only druids who do that, unless you're super isolated from the rest of society and there's no cleric or government officials around ]

Not sure how much of that carries over to here. I think the official government paperwork stuff is going to be the most important part; anything else is just ceremonial.

Actually, wait.

So unless things are very different here, I'm pretty sure that in order to be legally binding, you need to have witnesses.

You alright on that front?

Alright, I assume you guys have the witness thing taken care of then.

I've gathered some information while I was here, but I never tried to marry anyone so I'm still not aware of the exact process. Still, it looks like you'll have to go over here:

[And she just gives the address for the municipal government office]

They'll provide the paperwork, but if you want anything else, you're on your own for that.
